I worked for EnPointe at that time as Vice President of Services, and Chris was one of my employees. Whenever I went to NYC to visit the office, he would always bring me a cup of coffee just because that was who he was. We would talk about God, salvation, and family. What a wonderful delight, and to this very day his picture hangs on every office that I work in to remind me of his generosity, love of the Lord, and family. One day we will meet in heaven!

i remember running into Chris at the Bus station in Buffalo, NY. I was going to Rochester and Chris was headed for NYC to start his job at the World Trade Center. We talked about his computer background and he mentioned that employers who interviewed him were impressed by the fact that most of his computer knowledge was self taught. I actually marveled at this as I was in my third semester in the Computer Information Systems Department at Buffalo State. So I will continue to miss this young man who was a source of inspiration for me in completing my BS. Chris may you Rest In Peace In Heaven. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Continue to S.I.P. I remember seeing you as a child always going past my house on your way to work. I remember you telling me while i was running after my ball to watch for cars and to always look both ways. I miss you so much. You watched me grow up and i know you are still watching me and now my children. Thank you for looking down on me

I visited the memorial recently and was humbled by it's immensity. As I took photos, I stood near Mr. Scudder's name and I wanted to find out more about him. As a stranger, I can't be certain about much, but I'm sure even after this many years his family and friends still feel great pain and loss. For that, I wish God to bring you peace.

I visited NYC for the first time last week.I took a photo at the 9/11 memorial and only one name was legible in the photo - Christopher Jay Scudder.I decided to see if I could find anything about this man and it led me to this site.
I am a stranger but now whenever I see something regarding 9/11 the name and image of this man will pop into my head.My condolences,I'm sure after all these years the pain is still great.

I worked with Chris at a mortgage company until October 1998. He was a computer tech head... ha, ha, ha! He knew his stuff! I know, through reading these entries, he was a blessing to many of us. As with some of you, we were not friends but we were friendly. We spoke regularly about things in life. I remember him always smiling and being well spoken. Most importantly, I always remember him being tuned into the person he was speaking with. [You] made people feel that they mattered. He always spoke lovingly of his daughter. We did occasionally keep in touch after 1998. I knew of him getting work elsewhere but I didn't know or remember it being the WTC. I do remember that he had started computer classes for children which was great! He was about making a difference in a positive way. On 9/11, I spoke with a mutual ex-coworker of ours who told me (if memory serves me correctly) that he called his girlfriend (who spoke with our ex-coworker) to tell her that he got out of the building, but nothing else was heard from him. For a number of days, I tried calling him until his number was disconnected. I then became aware of his passing when his name was mentioned during a televised reading of the victims names. I was so saddened as I am now thinking about it again. It's been thirteen years since I've seen him and a bit over ten years since we've spoken. Chris... you are remembered, appreciated, and loved! May God Bless and Comfort you, your family, and other acquaintances!

when i was 9, i used to watch CHRIS cut his own hair. one day he let me try it. almost 30 years later, i'm still cutting....because of him. me and CHRIS were closer than anyone in our family. i learned about life through CHRIS. i never knew what it was like to have a father so when i would see him and his dad, i was envious. CHRIS and agee(his sister)used to get $100 allowance as kids! i always looked up to him, even to this day. CHRIS used to get a lot of stares from people when we went somewhere together and it would make me mad so i would say,"what r u lookin' at?"one day the same thing happened. he looked at me and said, "if it don't bother me don't let it bother you". that was the last time i got mad. that was the type of guy he was.and what's so crazy is i see the same qualities in shalisha. she's so mild mannered and well liked. CHRIS, we had some really good times throughout our lives together and i will always cherish them. GOD put you here for a reason and you served your purpose. i realize that now. thank you for being my cousin, my mentor, my friend, my father figure. you will always live through me. one love

Well, it's been a few years now, but obviously he has left a mark on all of us here. I was a coworker of Chris at EnPointe Technologies. Although I worked out of the L.A. office and he was in NY we spoke almost every day. He was such a wonderful person and would keep all of us here laughing all the time. I still miss him. It took a while for it to sink in that he is gone. I am very glad I finally found this site to share my memories of him. To his daughter, mother and sister who he spoke of so fondly all the time, my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies still go out to you. God Bless.

I worked with Chris at En Pointe. Chris did computer services for us at the NYC Board of Education. I went out to run service calls with him one time to learn what his day was like. While I did not know Chris well (only visiting the NY office once a month), I did know that he was always grinning, enthusiastic and a great joy to talk with. Chris may have been 34, but he looked barely 20 and had a youthful attitude as well.
He told me a story of how he once was fixing a computer in a classroom in Queens. At the end of class a fight broke out between a couple of students. Security arrived to break it up, saw him and assumed he was a student (he somehow did not have his ID). They sent him to the principal's office. He told me that it was the first time he had ever been sent to a principal’s office and he was there for an hour trying to straighten everything out (he finally found one of his business cards). I was cracking up picturing him in that situation.
It amazes me how different people touch your life in different ways. It seems that Chris managed to touch many people’s lives around the country. I wanted to share with Chris’s family that he touched me and let you know that I am thinking of you today.

There are very few awesome men on this earth, and now we have lost one to a tragedy. My heart is heavy beyond words. After moving to Georgia and loosing touch I find out today, 9-11-03, I will never be able to tell him how good and true a friend he was to me. When I think of Chris I think of his daughter. She was always at the forefront of his thoughts. My prayers for peace within the hearts of the ones he left behind are said today as I remember the life Chris lived. HE IS NOT FORGOTTEN.

"I wish for you..."
Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Faith so that you can believe,
Courage to get through all the horror,
Patience to embrace each day,
And enough love from family & friends to help ease the pain of your loss.

Chris, its been a year and I still miss you. I hear your voice quite plainly in my ears at times and I know I have a special angel. There are still so many unanswered questions for me and I still rage at God about this. HE wanted a very special angel and he chose a wonderful man, father and son all in one!
I remember talking to you on the sunday and you were so full of joy and some frustration about the move into your new house.
All the plans you had for your mom and sister.
I didnt sign this book before because you always told me how impersonal this medium can be and you always wanted to be considered special!
You ARE SPECIAL MY LOVE and I MISS YOU SO.
I KEEP HOPING THIS IS SOME VERY BAD DREAM.
I wrote another poem for you Chris, you always liked to read my poetry;
PHANTOM DREAMS
SITTING ON A ROCK WATCHIN THE SKYLINE AND LAKE,
I AM WONDERING HOW MUCH MORE CAN I TAKE?
DAY TO DAY ALL THE FIGHTIN' BUSTLIN AN SHOVIN,
WHEN ALL OF US COULD JUST USE A LITTLE MORE LOVING
I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED US TO STAND!
TALL
AND PROUD
YET TIME AND TIME AGAIN I FIND MYSELF,
ALONE,
IN A CROWD
MY BROTHAS AN SISTAHS JUST THRIVING ON DECEIT,
JUST SEE ME AS A
MARK
WHEN I WALK DOWN THE STREET
ITS FUNNY THAT DATS ALL THEY SEE THOUGH THEY LOOK ON MY FACE,
FOR OTHERS?
THEY SEE THE SHINE LEFT BY GRACE
PHANTOM VOICES SWIRL ABOUT ME...
OF PAST HAPPINESS THAT WONT LET ME BE
PHANTOM VOICES WHISPER IN MY EAR
OF THE THINGS,
THE PLACES,
THE PEOPLE I HELD DEAR
SOMETIMES I WISH THEY WOULD JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!
BUT
THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE JUST TO GUIDE ME ON HOME.

To the family, I did not personally know chris but i did know who he was, he always had a smile and would say hi to anyone who walked by him, he's said hi to me all the time i just responded and kept walking, its weird how people you never know can have such an effect on you, when i found out he was the man that walked by saying hi, i was hurt that i never stopped, he always looked as if everything was ok and the direction he was walking was one of success and dreams, i sensed that from his movements. Man its hard Spring Valley is but so big,i think we even went to the same school Ramapo although he is a lot older, my sister said she remembers him well. Im sorry to hear about him and would love to let the family know Spring Valley loves you when your down and will help you get back up,i saw another posting in the book i remember chris at First Baptist to. same smile, same face and the same God!

There is so much to say about Christopher. He was a good man with a big heart. A friendship I will cherish forever. He loved the three women in his life as he would say his mom, his sister and his daughter. I had just talked to Christopher that Sunday before the 11th and he was so happy and proud to be moving into his new place. He impacted the life of my son and I thank him for that...he would spend time talking to him on the phone and I remember him buying him a uniform for school and a video game for his birthday...my son cherishes the game even more and we equally miss Christopher and will always love him. I know he is watching over us all...we lost a physical part of Christopher but the spiritual still remains. My prayers go out to the family.

Christopher was such a special person. My daughter knew Christopher and they had a special relationship. She spoke with him the day before 911 and she said she remembered laughing with him saying you know we love each other. I spoke with him on occasion - he was a wonderful christian with such good life values and how he loved his daughter. He was generous and kind. I lost a son and my comfort came in knowing he was in a better place. My prayer for his family is to know that peace beyond understanding that comes only from our God. God had me in the palm of his hands and I am sure he will be there for all of you. Mrs. Scudder what a wonderful son you raised and I am glad that his daughter has you and the rest of your family to help her through the years. Christopher was heaven sent and how blessed I feel to have known him.

There are soooooooo many things I could say about my loving brother Chris. Growing up with Chris was like having a twin. Talk about protection, there was never a moment even when we were off to totally different colleges was he away from me. Anyone that knew us in High School would always know that I was Chris' BABY SISTER. There were plenty of times people would ask me are you Chris Scudder's sister and I would get upset and say NO I am Adriane Scudder. Now that I look Back and truly hear all of the loving stories he would tell about me, I can't believe he remembered half of what I hear. If anyone has ever lost a brother or sister after growing up with them at your side your entire life knows how I feel right now. Chris and I had our share of brother and sister arguments, but we always made sure an apology was made within a reasonable amount of time. There were a lot of obstacles Chris had to overcome in his life and he succeeded with no problem. I am EXTREMELY PROUD of him for doing so. May all of his love and kindness flow over into the lovely daughter that he has. WE MISS HIM VERY MUCH.

Christopher was more than just a nephew to me. He was more like my brother that I never had and like a second son. I miss him calling me by my nickname, "Hey Dee Dee " and the talks that we would have about everyday thing. He would give me technicial advise on my computer which help me alot. I look at his picture everyday I come home from work and I say when I wakeup this will all be just a very bad dream. But then I ask why, why Christopher. Nephew and Son you may not be here in body but you will always be with me in spirit.

I never had the opportunity to meet Christopher, physically. We met on BlackPlanet.com. We took it off of the anonymous plane of the net by speaking almost daily. He would call and say hello... we would exchange niceties, talk about computers and even our children. As the months wore on, the telephone calls became less frequent, but a friend was still there.
September 11, shocked me out of my skin, but the vision of his girlfriend on television filled with pain and tears, rocked me to the core of my being. I can't ever say that I will forget him because as I live, he shall live... and I will be forever changed by him.
Peace and Blessings...soulsister67

We shared the same birthday, and for the 13 years we were friends...it was always a race to see who would reach the other first. Chris always called at 5 in the morning, and always got an earful. This year, on October 9th the call didn't come! I knew something was wrong. Four months later and I'm just learning that my fellow Libran was part of the tragedy. My heart is heavy. All my love to his daughter and other family members. We lost an angel!! God Bless...

We are so sorry for your loss of Christopher. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
