Daniel Lopez Obituary
Daniel Lopez had about 15 best friends. He collected them from elementary, middle and high school and old jobs. He was close to all of them. "Even before he passed away, I was like, I've never seen a man with such good friends," said his wife, Elizabeth. "He was my best friend."
Mr. Lopez, 39, of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, loved a good joke. So what if it occasionally went too far?
For instance, he once pretended to fall from a ladder. A blood-curdling scream brought Mrs. Lopez to his side. She found him on the floor in the fetal position, holding his ear. She kneeled before him to comfort him, only to see what looked like a piece of his ear in his hand. She screamed and cried. He laughed. It was the melted butt of a pink candle. Finally, she laughed.
"I thought he was really hurt," Mrs. Lopez said. "I was so upset with him. But you couldn't stay angry at him."
He also pulled some good ones on his friends. When he was the best man at one of his best friend's wedding three years ago, he presented the bride with a ring box containing a Viagra pill. Mr. Lopez was a financial analyst at Carr Futures.

Music always reminds me of Danny, he was an
awesome dj (DJ Legend). I always notice how he
controlled the crowd. I still listen to his mixed
tapes. Don't know if you remember me Liz and
know your daughter doesn't she was like 6 when I
ast saw her. But he was a great person and passe
as an unknown hero, helping others. Most times h
would close out his night with "now that we found
love what are we going to do with it" if only more
people would see it that way. Won't ever forget you Dan. God bless you Liz, your daughter and the Lopez family.

A young woman who may have been Daniel's sister Evelyn was distributing pictures of her missing brother. I took one. It is my personal connection to the losses we all suffered that day. to the lopez family-i last saw danny two weeks prior to 9/11 at the wtc plaza during the weekly salsa dance party.we talked about the good old days-we were 6th grade classmates at p.s.84 in williamsburg.we exchanged phone numbers in an attempt to gather up as many alumni students from our class.well it seems that danny had a better idea-to hold the reunion in heaven.danny i miss you and look forward to seeing you in the distant future.you will always be in my heart and prayers.may god bless you and be by your side always.thank you for your friendship and the great times we shared in school.ms. lopez and family i missed the memorial which was held some time ago,please keep me informed with regards to any future memorial services.

i met danny through Mt. Carmel's softball team. his daughter played with my daughter. i miss him at the games cheering the team on. the one thing that sticks out in my mind about him was when the parents played a scrimmage against the girls and he accidentally hit one of the little girls with the ball. the parents ripped him up for it.

Liz, I finally got to meet you at Pete's wake. Danny use to always talk about you. It just broke my heart to see you and the many wife's who lost their husbands on this tragic day. What hurts me the most are the children who were left fatherless. I cannot even begin to tell you how much this has affected me in every way. My life will never be the same. We met Danny, Liz and Brittany this past July on a cruise. We were assigned to sit with them at dinner for a whole week. We didn't only sit with them everyday for the week, but we also spent the week together doing tours and hanging out in the boat. We had the best time, it was so funny how we all clicked and how much we enjoyed spending all of this time together, out daughter Nicole had a great time with Brittany too. All three will always hold a special place in our hearts and mind. God Bless.
