Dear Yvette,
Today I honored you by running the same amount of stairs that I would have had to run in the World Trade Center to save your life on the tragic day we all will never forget. As you body lays peacefully in our Mother Earth, I know that your spirit that has ascended into the heavens is watching over your loved ones- caring for them as they care for you. You're very much still among us. You were in my heart today. We will never forget. I look forward to meeting you :)

Mrs. Anderson,
I never knew you and only heard for the first time your name today. But I felt compelled to write to you. We love and worship the same Lord, Jesus. You are my sister in Christ. One day soon I will have the honor of meeting you and, just maybe, have the pleasure of enjoying one of your specially-prepared meals.

To The Family,
As I continue my effort to reach all families of persons who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11/01, I'm very sorry to learn that your family experienced the pain of losing a loved one in the tragedy of 9/11. With sincere sympathy and empathy may these understanding thoughts help to convey that others care. “Precious in the eyes of God is the death of his loyal ones.” (Psalms 116:15) May God comfort you at this time of sorrow and bless you through the days ahead.
Sincerely,
Mr. Terry of NC

To the family of Yvette Anderson and her daughter, I did not know her and never met her, but as I read her memorial tribute and Guest Book entries, what a wonderful, fascinating and loving Woman of God, it makes me want to love Jesus and live for Him, even the more, because He is coming back, and I pray and do believe that Yvette's greatest wishes must have been for her family to see Jesus in peace, so, get ready to see her, she's waiting for you! May God continue to bless you and keep you!!

I am blessed to have know Yvette personally and she was truly a pleasure to know. Her work at White Rock Baptist Church inspired me to drive the church van for the seniors on Sunday morning. Yvette was one of the best cooks to have at any church function. I will always remember her lemon meringue pies. They were to die for. Her love for her family and her husband Marvin showed. Yvette was not just a talker she was a doer and I truly do miss her. Rest in peace Yvette. We will see you in the morning. To God be the Glory. God makes NO MISTAKES!!!.

It was August 27,2001 just 2 weeks before the tragedy that finally met Yvette. My aunt Wylene O. Woodruff of NYC,NY had known her for over 20 yrs. My wife and I had came all the way from Clovis, NM where we were living at that time to surprise my aunt on her 50th birthday party. That Monday morning my sister and a cousin of ours wanted to go down the WTC before we left NY, aunt Wylene told us about Yvette who worked there. She made the arrangements for us to meet her on the 87th floor to help us in getting around in the WTC. I will never forget how nice she was when we met her and how glad she was to meet us. She will be missed dearly by the Woodruff family.

Dear family and friends of Yvette Anderson,
I did not know Yvette and I do not know you, but today, as I looked over the names of those lost a year ago, I remembered this name from the list of names read at the Memorial today. Yvette sounded like a woman of great spirit. This evening when I go to church, I will remember her and her loved ones will be in my prayers. Peace and God bless to you.

Today I sang Mozart's Requiem with the Missoula Symphony Chorale as part of the "Rolling Requiem" tribute. Yvette Anderson's name was on a badge I wore over my heart, and I sang in her honor. My thoughts are with her daughter and her family. I lost my mother when I was a child, so I know there is little that can be said to give comfort. I hope the music has somehow made a difference.
Sincerely, Annette Walker

Dear Yvette,
I went to Legacy.com, and I closed my eyes to honor you at 846aEST. I looked into your eyes, your picture, as your name was read. Only you, I looked at you and prayed that you are shining down and injecting your family with love and strength. 3 seconds or less before your name was read (or less, I knew it was coming up), a truck drove by a window in my bathroom creating a light flash that spooked me. I could see the flash in my living room. My love to you, and the flash of light was too spooky, I knew it was a truck, but it was you comforting me. I love you and your family albeit we never talked on earth.
To you, to your family, I give you a smile that I hope helps your soul, and your family.
GOD BLESS!

Keep her alive in your heart. As a mother of a 15 yr old daughter, my heart goes out to her's. I know how my daughter would feel if something were to happen to me being a single mother for more than 12 of those years. God Bless Ms. Anderson's family especially her daughter. Obviously God has a bigger plan in mind for her. To the family, keep the faith and keep your head to the sky for you will see her again. She is up there looking out for you.

You are a soul of grace and light. No one is without your presence. You are loved and love flows from you. Continue to guide and teach in light and love.

Apostle Paul said, "I'd rather be absent from the body and Present with the Lord." I know Yvette is with the Lord and she's happy because she's in a better place. I pray one day I'll see her again because I miss her so much. I can't help but reminiscence about the times we spent together last year hanging out at the wax museum on 42nd St., Great Adventure in July, BB King Club to see Oleta Adams in August and the times I would come to your office and sit and talk to you and Raj. I miss you girl....

I bet your restaurant is really bumping in Heaven. I have a dear friend there who must be dining happy -- her name is Arlyn. She and I agonized over our weight, so imagine her delight when you arrived and she can eat without worrying about gaining weight!
My only consolation when a believer dies is that only the body is really dead - the spirit is alive and well with the Lord, which is the presence all believers aspire to be in. Yvette just earned her reward ahead of us.
Miss her, grieve for her, but do not grieve as those who have no hope, for the believer always has hope in the resurrection.
God bless this family.

Six months has not changed the images we viewed
It has made us all look at life more subdued.
Given yet some that gave so much
It may have happened in New York,
But the world it touched.
Lives were lost, stories went untold,
Our bravest and finest, blood ran cold.
Not even Spielberg could have directed this disaster
And how were we to survive all this after
Having these images seared into our conscience
And the immeasurable pain for those that will miss
Their moms and dads, kids and friends,
Relatives, loved ones, could not even begin
To fathom the reality, to wake from this horrible dream
To go back to normality, tattered at the seams.
As a nation we still mourn, a bit less every day.
But the pain is still there, as we go on our way.
To the store, to church, to work, to play
We may catch a glimpse of an airplane and pause to say
A quick prayer for those whose travel is uncertain
As they fly into the rainbow, as God lifted the curtain.
To bless them and remind them that his job is not yet done.
As he closed the curtain, and welcomed them safely home.

Yvette "Vet" as she was called by her family and friends was not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well. She would always brighten any room with her smile. And jokes, "Vet" always had a joke to tell. She always kept people laughing in stitches. I will miss "Vet" at Thanksgiving when she came home to Danville, VA every year. This year was really rough. Thanksgiving will never be the same without "Vet" and Grandma. I miss you so much "Vet".

I am deeply soory for the lost that you and your family are facing. Just know that god is watching over you and that she will be in a better place than in this cruel world that she lived in before. I hope that her daughter is okay, and know that her mother is looking down on her.

We are deeply sorry for your loss of Yvette. May her deep faith, her life and love continue living in you. May the sorrow in your hearts be lightened by precious memories of moments shared with Yvette. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
