Warm Summer Sun
Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

Dennis was my roomate, my friend, my client and my inspiration in many things. I say that because he was the nicest person I've ever met. He took life's difficulties with a grain of salt while never loosing his infectious smile. If everyone was like him, there would be no war.
Not a day goes by that I don't reflect on what a huge loss the world suffered that day.
We miss you Denny!

I did not know Dennis, however I was a student of his brother, David at WYSHS. He was one of the most inspirational, dedicated and driven teachers. I have no doubt that Dennis was the same way, with work and with his family. Even after all these years, people haven't forgotten. God bless.

In memory....
George Siracuse
September 17, 2004
To the Cook Family,
I am the brother of Peter A Siracuse, a coworker and friend to Dennis. Peter was also taken from us on that tragic morning of September the 11th. I had the pleasure of playing a round of golf with Dennis and my brother two weeks before they were killed at Lighthouse Sound in Ocean City,MD. I can tell you that we had a terrific day to play and we really enjoyed telling stories about golf, work, our kids and life. Dennis, like Pete, was a new Dad and that meant the world to both of them.
I also met Dennis' family on the Beach later that day since I was a neighbor next door at the Capri. We had fun holding our children's hands as they jumped over the surf.
I have a picture of Dennis and me on the course and the Turkey Hill logo golf ball he had given me that day. I keep it on my bookcase along with some photos and items of Pete's.
I will never forget the wonderful laughter and humor of Dennis and will cherish the day we shared with my baby brother Peter. This was the last time I saw my brother as well.
Know that my prayers always include your family, Dennis' wife and children and I pray that sometday we all will be united with our lost loved ones.
God Bless,
George

I am Denny's mother and I have just read the beautiful messages posted on this website, which my son Patrick told me about. Your kind and thoughtful remembrances of Denny made me feel good. His loss in our lives is devastating, and nothing will ever change that, but your tributes and prayers help to make this painful time bearable. Thank you.

I was a friend of Denny's at Villanova, and although we lost touch after College I often think of him. He was a warm, funny, kind, and bright soul. The person who made everyone smile. I cannot imagine the million ways by thousands of people that he is being missed today. My prayers and thoughts are with all his family.

Dear Dave and Family,
My heart goes out to you and your family. I found out about Denny from the Villanova magazine and I was floored and in disbelief. I still am. I am so sorry. God bless you and your family.
Dave, It seems like yesterday that me, you, Denny and the rest of the Zeta Psi brothers we were hanging out at Nova. He will be missed.
My Condolences,

Dear Dave,
My heart broke for you at the moment I heard about Denny. I'm so sorry that I didn't try to contact you earlier, and I should have tried to stay in touch with both of you after school. I wish that I didn't need to be writing this to you. But if it weren't for you, I would not have been given an opportunity to know Denny. Thank you for that.
I remember the older Cook boys as being two of the most devoted and most generous individuals -- to each other and your many friends. Denny and I grew to be good friends for the couple of years we had left after you had graduated. I could always count on him for anything, especially his great big bear hugs just when I needed it most, or to play just the right Guns & Roses tune to snap me out of a funk. Many of my happiest college memories involve you and your little brother; he was always shadowing you with that mischievous little twinkle in those baby blues. His contagious laugh and side-stitching sense of humor keeps me smiling to this day. But, Dave, I’m convinced that it was from you where he must have learned to always be a gentleman around the ladies.
I can’t possibly imagine what you are going through, so please just know that I think of you and Denny nearly every day, and I pray that his loss hasn't diminished your kind and loving spirit. You’ll always be in my heart, my thoughts, and my prayers.
Love,
Kristen

I remember the time I was stuck at work and Denny gave me a ride home. Going out of his way as usual. I only knew him during high school but I always remembered his smile and sense of humor. I was living in FL when it happened and when I heard that he worked for Cantor, I couldn't believe it. My sympathy and prayers go out to all family and friends. This is a hard one to get over. I imagine he is a guardian angel for his daughters now.
God Bless

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

I never knew Dennis but his name was given to me on a holy card at my church to pray for him and his family. I am so terribly sad for his loss and for his family and loved ones. I wish I knew something about Dennis, but I feel connected and close to him when I pray for him. May God hold him in His loving arms and console his family in this tragic time for them. My heart goes out to you all and I will continue praying for you - With lots of love
