This is so many years later after Ron has passed but I was thinking of him today on this anniversary of 9/11. I worked with Ron in '97-98 when I first moved to NY at Morgan Stanley in 2 WTC when he was temping there. Ron was just a gentle spirit and would give beautiful gifts of calligraphy poems or writings (which I really wish I had kept) if he liked you. We would occasionally grab a bite to eat and he'd share his opinions about the world. He would do Tai Chi in the coffee room on his breaks and just had a different take on life. I felt very lucky to have known him so many years back and he had an impact on anyone who was lucky to know him.

We share a family name, if not a bloodline. I will remember you and honor your memory as if we were related.

I visited New York in 2014. I took a photo of the pool and Mr Milsteins name is in the middle of the photo. That phot was part of a collage I had made of my trip. Ronald Keith Milstein is on my wall. You will never be forgotten, I know you now. All the way in Lancashire, England.

As I stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

Ronnie was my beloved cousin. He was truly one of a kind. If Ronnie loved you, it was totally unconditional. He loved my family and we loved him. His love and respect for animals was present in everything he did. I don't think he had any greater pleasure in life than being with our family's many cats. He is forever in our hearts and we miss him dearly.

I didn't know Ron personally but I spoke with him often. I am an employee of Deutsche Bank and I would speak with him regularly regarding technical issues and was trying to make arrangements to visit his office. My condolences to the family and friends of Ron. My prayers are with you and all who were affected by this tragedy.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8
Ron, I never knew you in person but your life was taken in a battle. Our American citizenship makes us brothers and for that I love you. I am an American veteran who will never forget that you paid the ultimate price for our country in a war not of our choice. May God strengthen, console, renew and bless your family. We will not forget nor will we stop short of victory.

To the friends and relatives of Ronald Milstein,
I have read the portraits of grief daily - as one NYTimes reader aptly put it - "it's my way of saying Kaddish". I was particularly touched by a few - Ronald's was one. I wanted to add a few "cat quotes" of my own that may apply, and wish you peace and strength in your memories.
"If you want to know the character of a man, find out what his cat thinks of him." ~ Anonymous
"How we behave toward cats here below determines our status in heaven." ~ Robert A. Heinlein
"The cat seldom interferes with other people's rights. His intelligence keeps him from doing many of the fool things that complicate life." ~ Carl Van Vechten
"Chances are that a man who can nuzzle a kitten is also open and caring in other facets of his life." ~ Barbara L. Diamond
"If cats could talk, they wouldn't." ~ Nan Porter
"If there is one spot of sun spilling onto the floor, a cat will find it and soak it up." ~ Jean Asper McIntosh
"If you would know a man, observe how he treats a cat." ~ Robert A. Heinlein

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
