will never be forgotten ❤
Kirsten A.

I didn't know Kirsten, in fact, I was only a freshman in a small high school in an Atlanta suburb with the attacks happened. But two years ago I moved to Albany, NY for work, and while I was visiting the 9-11 Memorial down in the city with my mom and sister that April day, I came across Kirsten's name and immediately stopped. You see, we share a very unique and beautiful name. It just isn't common at all to find another Kirsten (no personalized bracelets or anything for us). And I touched her name and lowered my head and prayed. I had only turned 27 two days before, and when I went home and researched that she was 26 during the attacks, I could have been her in another time and place and it hit hard. So, Kirsten Santiago will always be remembered by a stranger with her same name. I'm sorry for your loss, and I pray for her family and loved ones.

I was friends with Kirsten and Peter at Mansfield University. We were RA's together and she was in my wedding. Kirsten had the biggest heart! She is greatly missed! Such a true friend, I still cant accept the whole thing. I will always remember her and the fun times we shared at MU. It was hard hearing her name on the service today! Cant imagine the pain Pete has endured!! God bless you girl and hang in there Big Pete!!!

I remembered attending her beautiful wedding in Virginia and how stunning she looked. She was a very quiet young lady who when she moved to the neighborhood in The Bronx,we had once lived, I would see her walk her dogs daily never uttering a word, just a simple wave as to say hello...

I knew Kirsten while I was a student in Mansfield University. She was a terrific person and so sweet. She always had a smile and hello. I saw her last in 1999 at her grandparents home in Hershey. We had a nice visit with one of our other friends.
I will always think of her with fondness and be praying for the family that she left behind.

I knew Kirsten during our years together at Mansfield University. She had an infectious attitude that grew on you. sadly, I did not learn of her passing until 2003. I wish we had remained in contact more, but I feel blessed to have known and had her in my life.

Kirsten,
We love you and miss you so much. Every time we see the dogs, we just think about how much you loved them. We will miss your angelic face sitting across the street. You will forever be in our hearts.

I knew Kirsten personally. She lived across the street from me and I am a very close friend of her husband's family. Even though we didn't get to spend much time together, I knew she was a blessing to be around. She was very gentle, kind, and loved to cook various desserts. I remember going into the house and smelling her scrumptous desserts. I will miss her dearly. It was an honor knowing Kirsten.

I did not know Kirsten personally either (though I do have her high school graduation photo), but I briefly met her younger sister Liz while visiting my daughter as they both attended Graceland University. I have corresponded with Kirsten's mother Cheryl for many years (she was my pen pal long ago) and got to meet her once as well. I hope to make it to Fairbanks someday for another personal visit. Cheryl, Liz, Marcus, and Tom - my heart continues to go out to you and my prayers are with you still.

I remember how happy Kirsten & Peter were the day they married. It was a pleasure seeing them both so excited to be so in love. We still have the bottle of champagne with their names on it from the wedding. It will never be opened, but held in her memory. God is holding you now hon and has a special place for you with him. Be strong Peter, we love you!

I did not know Kirsten, but today(September 11) a local radio station was giving out flags. Each American flag contained the name of a Victim of September 11th. I recieved a flag with Kirsten's name. I would like the family of Kirsten to know my thoughts and prayers are with them today and always.

I never had the opportunity to meet kirsten;however, I was given a wristband with her name on it. I was surprised to see I had something in common with her: we have the same last name. To kirsten's family:your loss can never be taken away by the mere words on this page; we can only attempt to ease your pain. My grandma always said, "you know you have an angel watching over you, make her proud!"
God Bless!

Dear Kirsten,
I never met you Kirsten but we share the same birthday. We actually share more then that. I started dating your brother Marcus in December 2002 and soon moved to your home town. You have touched so many lives here and are so deeply missed. Your little sister just got married and your mother swore you were here with us. She could hear through out the house you calling your sister "KIDO" and I told your mom that I knew you were here with us too.
It was a honor to hear all about you when I became a part of your special family. I learned that we both share the love of dogs and the desire to help others. I hope that in my life time, I can truly help and touches so many lives as you have including those you have never met, like me.
Marcus and I wanted to tell you that we are getting married in August of 2003 and we want you to know that we 'll be thinking of you on this special day and hoping that you're looking down upon us and the family. We will be playing a special song for you and for all of those who lost their lives on 911.
Missing and loving you,
Marcus and Jacqueline

I am pained that a fellow volunteer in nursing homes has been taken so cruelly from us. As a committed volunteer myself, I understand the genuine love for people and the compassion it takes to deal with the elderly. A volunteer like Kirsten was and is special because she had extra care to offer to people. Combine that with a love for animal and I am sure that without even knowing her, Kirsten was a beautiful person. I am sure she is watching over her loved ones with beautiful wings.

I am making a quilt block for the United in Memory memorial quilt for victims of the Sept. 11th trajedy. I have never met Kirsten, I just picked her name from the list. I see now we have a lot in common, I also have raised dogs and worked in the insurance industry. Our hearts break for the families and friends of these innocent people who contributed so much to our lives.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
