Hi Cousin, I found you this year. I finally had the opportunity to return to NYC and visited the memorials around the city. I've never cried so deeply for you, and for everyone else who was taken on 9/11/01, in some ways, it was cleansing. I still miss you and your crazy stories. I know I haven't written here in a few years, I guess a part of me though I had moved on in my grief, seeing the Pools proved me wrong. I'm so thankful that Legacy has kept this page alive so I can write to you. I love you with all my heart. -Mabs

On September 11, 2018 myself, 8 Navy Chiefs, and 3 Navy officers joined 343 firefighters in a memorial stair climb in downtown Denver, Co. We were all given an opportunity to carry a badge in memory of a fallen fire fighter up 110 flights of stairs. I carried Allan Tarasiewicz, it was an honor to begin with, then after reading about Mr. Tarasiewicz it was even more so. It sounded like he was a great man and someone I would have liked to have met. I wanted to let his family know that his service, sacrifice, and life are not forgotten.

Hello Cousin, another Sept 11th is upon us, and I miss you still. I've been taking the children I babysit to the firehouse, and through their eyes I remember the same wonder I held when I used to visit you at the firehouse on Staten Island. I hope that Patty and the kids are finding peace and their way through their grief with missing you everyday. <3

Though I know my own pain at the loss of Allan can in no way compare with yours, I just want to remind you that you are not alone. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Allan looks down on us all. His bravery a testament to the goodness of mankind. I miss him, miss you... As the sun climbs high over the New York skyline and the day begins anew. We stop, we stand and raise our gazes high, and we think, a moment, on you. Though you are gone, you are not forgotton, though you are gone, you have not left us. Deep in our hearts, you lie. Reminding us of you. We have not forgotton, we will not forget, and in that way, dear cousin, you will never die. ... With all my love. Michele

Allan Tarasiewicz was my cousin. We lived in different states, our lives revolved around different
circumstances. He was still family. The deep pain of this terrorist attack has been felt deeply among many people. Our country and our world has been forever changed. What Allan lost was a wonderful wife, bright and beautiful; two children that will seek him in everything that they do; his grieving mother, sister, brothers, nephews, nieces and cousins. All who in some way has lost a piece of themselves on that day. The pain has traveled many miles to Baltimore in fact. Allan's
legacy that he has left is to live each day as a happy person, to make a living doing what you love
to do, to love the people you work with and for, to do things unconditionally. His light was
bright on earth as he made people laugh and enjoy life. His light is brighter today and every day.
He is still teaching us things to remember and to love each moment. I pray each day for my family, for our country and for our world. Thank you Allan for your blessings! God Bless America!

Dear Patricia,
I have thought of you and your family so often this year after I heard of the death of your husband Allan. It must be so difficult being the only parent to your children after such a traumatic time. Please know that I keep you in my prayers.
We worked flights out of JFK for TWA and my husband was a volunteer fireman at that time.
May God bless you and your family.

Dearest Patricia-
You have been in my thoughts and prayers for a year now...those will will never end.
I can't imagine what your going through. The things you held so dear and were so important to you in your life, have all changed so drastically for you - in one terrible day.
I remember you in the First Class galley, taking care of the first class passengers and crew, speaking glowingly of Allan and you fixing up your new house. You two were so close, a team.
Occasionally Lynda Johnson and I will speak of you and your traumatic loss. Both our hearts go out to you. What we also talk about is your strength. We remember you winning TWA's Medical/Humanitarian award by saving someone's life. That award was never handed out. You are truely special...and I know you are strong.
I wish you and your family many peaceful moments and good memories.
God Bless-

I am Allan's sister, and on behalf of my family and myself, I thank everyone who wrote an entry in the guestbook. Some of you I remember as Allan's friends and I am especially touched by those of you who wear my brother Allan's name (memory) bracelet. Although it's now one year since Allan's death(that word is still difficult to say)the pain of his loss is still felt deeply by all in his family. However, those that knew Allan will always remember his love of his family, sense of humor and his pride in being a firefighter.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,

I WAS VERY GOOD FRIENDS WITH ALLANS DAUGHTER MELISSA. ALTHOUGH WE HAVE LOST TOUCH AFTER GRADUATION I SPOKE WITH MELISSA SHORTLY AFTER THE TRADGEDY. ALLAN WAS A GREAT GUY AND I COULD SAY THAT BACK THEN I COULD REGUARD HIM AS SORT OF A FATHER FIGURE TO ME SINCE I SPENT SO MUCH TIME AT HIS HOUSE. Allan sat behind me in 4th grade. He liked to tease me by kicking my seat. I would turn around and whack his desk with my ruler to scare him. Mrs. Bender would scold both of us! We went on through school all the way till our destinies took us on different paths, but similar. We both ended up out West. Our children are the same ages. We both moved home to NY at the same time. Then our paths separated again.I feel so terrible for Allan's family.I will always remember him and miss the brief time we had together.Thank you for helping all those people on 9-11. You always were an unselfish guy.Mary Feola Bryant-Neptune,NJ

To Allan's Family,
My heart aches for your loss. I find it very hard to express my feelings in words. Since 9/11 I have felt grief that is second only to the grief I felt when my father passed 12 years ago. I just want you to know that even though I did not know Allan, as an American I consider him a brother. I received a bracelet today that bears his name. I will proudly wear it for the rest of my life and I will never forget the sacrifice he made for others. You and all the other families will always have a special place in my heart.

Allan, you are the name on my bracelet. I am 41, my Grampa was a NY State fireman for 26 years. My thoughts are with your family. Allan,
I went to St. Peter's Church by the WTC this morning and lit a candle and said a prayer for you and all the victims of 911.
I was also privledged to pay my respects to you at St. Margaret Mary's(my Alma Mater) Church as part of the Marine Corps League contingent.
Although I did not know you personally, I witnessed first hand the heroic acts the FDNY performed on that horrific day.
You gave your life saving mine and thousands of others.
Know that you are in my prayers each and every day.
God Bless you, your family, and God Bless America!

Dear Allan,
I never had the pleasure to meet you but I wanted your beloved wife to know you and she are in my thoughts and prayers.
It takes a special man to become a brave firefighter and unfortunately the whole world found out how many brave heroes there were on September 11, 2001.
I am sorry for your loss and the terrible pain your wife, friends, family and fellow firefighters have had to endure.
I hope, with time, the pain will fade from your hearts and some peace and sunshine will filter inside.
God Bless you, Allan and the loved ones you left behind.
I am so sorry!

We are deeply sorry for your loss of Allan. It sounds like he had a very caring and warm heart that was dedicated to others especially when he was to go on vacation. We thank Allan so very much for all he did for others. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
