Wishing the best to Carl's loved ones. Tomorrow I'll be visiting the memorial fountain for the first time and I'll go pay my respects at his name. Carl didn't have to go help, but he did and he is a hero. What a wonderful man he seemed to be and I deeply admire him.

i never knew carl but everyday for the last 9 years i have worn his name on my wrist. i am an emt in minnesota. i ordered a bracelet in 2002 to honor all of my sisters and brothers lost in the disaster. i happened to get carl's name. the only time i've taken it off was for a surgery. he was there at my wedding and when my son was born. i feel a connection to him having him with me everyday. my husband and I went to ground zero in 2008 and i got to see carls name on the big plaques there. i am honored to wear his name and i do it with pride everyday.

Today I participated in a memorial to honor the fallen firefighters of 9/11/01 in my hometown of Wausau, Wisconsin. We don't have large buildings, so the climb was 13 trips up a 9 story building to achieve the 110 stories of the WTC. I am honored to have worn the badge of Carl Bini for the climb. May God bless you and all the families and fellow firefighters as we remember the events of 10 years ago.

Chris,
On September 11, 2011 eleven of our departmental 135 are going to climb 110 stories to honor the lives of our fallen brothers. We are representing FDNY Rescue 5. I was given a memorial bracelet with your husband's name engraved on it. I am privileged to have the opportunity to climb in his honor. I too am on a rescue team and it appears we have more in common; married high school sweetheart, have two girls (three years apart), fitness buff and avid jogger, am a rescue diver and we are close in age.
Lest we never forget the 343 that paid the ultimate sacrifice,

I visited this site today because I went running down the west side highway and looked up and there was that void. An overwhelming sense of sadness came over me as if it were yesterday. As I came on here your husband's profile came up. I can not express to you the gratitude that we hold in our hearts for the firefighters, rescue workers and police that risked their lives to save others. Although it may be 7 years and 4 months later your husband is not forgotten. You should be very proud to have known someone so brave. To those who risked their lives and are now suffering from debilitating breathing disorders we are working diligently to make sure that they and their families are taken care of. The void I felt looking up at that empty sky is pale in comparison to the void you and your daughters must feel everyday. I hope in these 7 years on your road to healing that you have found support and love.

Dear mrs. Bini, On the fifth anniversary of the loss of your husband i will be thinking of your family. I purchased an American flag that was one of 3000 that flew over Kennesaw national park (Marietta ,Ga.) Attached to my flag was your husbands name in memory of, when i came home i loked up the information on him and he sounded like a great husband ,father ,firefighter and true American. I work in an office in a busy shopping center and would like to have your blessing in hanging the flag with a printed article of Mr. Bini and his picture as an honor to him.

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF CARL BINI
I NEVER HAD THE HONOR OF MEETING CARL, BUT AS AN AMERICAN I CAN SAY THAT I THANK GOD EVERYDAY FOR PEOPLE LIKE CARL. I KNOW YOU ARE ALL VERY PROUD OF CARL AND HE IS TRUELY A "HERO" I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT EVEN THOUGH I WAS NOT DIRECTLY AFFECTTED BY 9/11 MY HEART BLEEDS EVERYDAY FOR EACH AND PERSON THAT WAS. I ONLY KNOW HOW I FELT THAT DAY AND GOD KNOWS THAT I HAVE CRIED SO MUCH JUSTING SITTING BACK AND WATCHING ALL OF AMERICA IN PAIN. STILL TO THIS DAY, I CAN NOT COME TO GRIPS WITH WHAT HAS HAPPENED. ALL OF THOSE FAMILIES THAT WERE TRAGICALLY RIPPED APART. I CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO HEAR THE NEWS, SEE THE PICTURES OR GOD FORBID GET A PHONE CALL FROM SOMEONE I LOVE SAYING GOOD-BYE. MY HEART ACHES JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. ALL OF YOU ARE ALSO "HEROS" FOR THE STRENGTH YOU HAVE EXHIBITED THROUGH THE WORST DAYS OF YOUR LIFE. WHILE WE ARE STILL HERE ON THIS EARTH WE WILL NEVER KNOW JUST WHY THIS TRAGIC EVENT TOOK YOUR LOVED ONE AWAY AND I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS; BUT I KNOW THAT GOD WILL GIVE YOU THE STENGTH SOMEHOW TO CARRY ON. I PRAY THAT HE BRINGS A SENSE OF PEACE TO YOUR FAMILY HELPING YOU TO REALIZE THAT CARL IS IN A BEAUTIFUL PLACE WITH GOD AND ALL OF HIS ANGELS. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AND I PRAY THAT YOUR PAIN WILL GET EASIER EACH DAY AHEAD.
I'M NOT SURE IF WE ARE RELATED DOWN THE LINE SOMEWHERE OR NOT, BUT I HAD TO TAKE THE TIME TO TELL YOU HOW GREATFUL I AM FOR YOUR "FATHER/HUSBAND" CARL FOR THE SACRIFICES THAT HE MADE EVERYDAY OF HIS LIFE FOR OTHERS. IT TAKES A SPEACIAL PERSON TO DO THESE JOBS. HE DIED BY MAKING THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE ON 9/11 DOING WHAT HE LOVED TO DO. IF YOU THINK WE MAY BE RELATED PLEASE EMAIL ME.
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL OF OUR HEROS!

Dear Chris:
We went to court reporting school together at Merchants and Bankers Business and Secretarial School, and we worked in the Labor Department as Hearing Reporters. I remember when you were planning your wedding to Carl and how excited you were.
When I finished my classes during the evenings at Merchants and Bankers one of my classmates was Firefighter Vernon Cherry. He continued to report part-time, and I met him again just a few years ago at a court reporting agency we worked with. Chris, remember how important it was to get a seat up front in class so that we could have good tape-recordings for practice later on? Vernon always made sure I had one of the good seats -- which just happened to be next to him.
You have two daughters who are their father's legacy, and you have memories of your husband, one of the brave and wonderful firefighters who made the supreme sacrifice.
God bless,
Norah Colton

Such a deep heart touching picture you have painted in my mind about Carl's determination to protect, save and care for others. I cried so hard when I read about the part where if you tied him down he would have chewed his way through the ropes! Carl's deep dedication to save lives and care for others as a firefighter comes from a heart full of warmth and love for mankind. I wish there was a way to take away the pain you feel. I don't know what to say. I close my eyes, say a prayer and cry. We thank Carl with all our hearts for saving lives, fighting fires and caring so deeply for others. May his courage, life and love continue living in those who love him and in those who have been touched by his life. He has touched my heart deeply and I will always remember the sacrifices he gave to save others. May the sorrow in your hearts be lightened by warm memories of times shared with Carl. May you always feel the warmth of his love radiate into your hearts. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and let his love flow softly into your heart as his love continues living in you in a new way. We are extremely sorry for our nation's loss of Carl. Our hearts cry deeply with you in America's loss of a hero.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
