Barbara, don't know if you will see this but I have been watching the 9/11 ceremonies and am thinking about the 5 people I knew who died there. I remember when you met Ron and all the Junior Leagures were so happy for you. When we played the newlywed game at the McLaughlin house and you and Ron won we were all so surprised and annoyed with our husband's. A lot of fun times to remember.
Hope you are well.

It was an honor to have met Mr. Hoerner. After I left the military, I worked at the World Trade Center for a short time frame and Mr. Hoerner was my manager. It was great working for Mr. Hoerner. He had a certain high level of professionalism. I was very shocked and sad after I looked up Mr. Hoerner´s name. I learned that Mr. Hoerner was very courageous because he went back in to save others on September 11, 2001. It´s been 20 years and I still think of Mr. Hoerner. I will never forget you sir. You are an outstanding fellow. Thank you so much for your service!!!!

I was a Major NYSP in Troop L Long Island for 2 years & got to know Ron when he worked in Troop ID section. They did crime scene photos & forensics. Very dedicated & personable Trooper. I visited him at the South Tower the spring of 01 while working security for Dow Jones who had their main offices across the street. We said hello & made plans to have lunch in the fall when I was back in the city. I never got to see Ron again but heard he had passed on 9/11 doing his job & rescuing people from the tower. He was a hero & just an all around nice guy. I think of him a lot & so sorry for his family’s loss.

Barbara,
This is Sonia Alvarez, Mr. Hoerner meant the world to me, he was my mentor and had and has continued to make an enormous impact in my life. I am proud to say that he has and will always be the most positive boss that has impacted my life. In his honor I completed college and received my degree. But most importantly, I have held on to a calendar from that past year with his handwriting on it which I will someday want to give to you in person. Please know that there has been not one day that I do not have his presence in my thoughts. You can contact me at 718-790-4807.......

Ron was my partner in the Forensic Unit of the New York State Police and a true friend. I admired Ron's dedication to his job and his great sense of humor. I wasn't surprised to hear that his last act was one of helping people to get out of the WTC, a true hero. May he rest in peace. My prayers go out to him, his wife Barbara and family.

To the Hoerner Family:
Speaking as one of many proud Assistant Resident Managers with Summit Security Services (WTC 1995-96),I had the pleasure, honor and privilege of working for MR. HOERNER; he preferred to be simply called RON. It's been over 15 years, but I will always remember Ron as well dressed, decent and fair; a person who always had a genuine concern for his people and there were many. Everyone loved and admired him. Ron was an extraordinary human being - don't be sad; for Mr. Hoerner made lives better! May GOD bless each and every one of his family members and all that loved him....Sincerely!

I first met Ron in 1973 and had the honor of knowing him until that terrible day. All who worked with him on the State Police got tagged with a nickname he contrived. Always a gentleman, very caring, and a great friend. So like him to sacrifice his life trying to save someone else. He is missed and remembered. NEVER FORGET!

Barbara, I remember meeting you and Ron at my sister Linda Brownworth's house. You were a great couple. I know what it is to love someone and have them taken away. I found life doesn't get better as time goes by it gets different. I hope you're doing well and my prayers are with you on this 10th Anniversary.

Dear Mrs. Hoerner and family
My name is Charlie McKenna I had the pleasure of working with Ron both in the Parkway Police and the State Police. I have many memories of Ron. The last time i SAW Ronnie was in
August of 2001. I was assigned to the Drug Task Force and was parking my vehicle in lower Manhattan. When I heard a voice calling Hay MA that was his nick name for me going back to the Parkway days. We talked for a while and
talk about having lunch in September. But never did.
I think of Ron often and can picture in my mind the both of us on the Meadowbrook Parkway having one hell of a time. I did go to the church service but did not pay my respects to you or your family. To emotional for me (Irish). There are many stories I could talk about some funny some sad. All I can say is we lost one hell of a man
On this the 10 anniversary coming up
all my sympathy to Ron's Family

I only found out a couple of years ago that Ronald was at the World Trade Center. I first met Ronald when I worked for an automobile dealer on Long Island. "Radar Ron" as we knew him would stop by for some accessories to show with his Corvair show car to increase his points total. He was a fun guy. I will miss him.

Dear Mr and Mrs Hoerner:
I remember Ronald each September 11th. Although I had only met him when I was a little girl, my father, Jack Manzella had always spoken fondly of him as well as my grandmother Ann Manzella and my Aunt Frances Peterson.
I will always remember this well-loved man . . . as I have this past September 11th.
My love and sympathy to the family.

I grew up in Richmond Hill, New York and was fortunate enough to live next door to Ronald for 21 years of my life. I can remember, as a little girl, waiting for him to come home from work because he always looked so proud and handsome in his state trooper uniform !! He was always so special to me ... and there are things about our childhood that I will never forget. Ronald ... may you always walk in the clouds and sleep with the angels. We love you forever !!!

Ron was a Gentleman and a Professional. His leadership, skills and dedication to duty at WTC culminated in the safe evacuation of countless lives on September 11th. I met him only once and I have felt the loss of him since day of the attack. In early 1999, he provided me a behind the scenes tour of the security operation so that I might learn from the experiences of WTC.
On the day of the attack I pulled out his business card and kept it in front of my keyboard. This began my vigil of praying for him, his family and watching for his name on the lists that were popping up. Sadly, my worst fears were confirmed within a couple of days. I wasn't being pessimistic. I just knew from my brief visit with Ron that he would be there doing all he could as long as he could. He was a man who knew the value of life, but put none on his own for the sake of others. Ron's example underscores the mission of all security professionals and challenges us to be mentally and emotionally ready if we are put in similar situations.
Ron is one of the many heroes of September 11th. He will always be mine.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
