I learned of your death long after it occurred. I am not sure how I found out now. I remember you from High School when you were an exchange student at Parkside High School. You were kindly softer spoken and had a warm slightly mischievous sense of humor...I remember the classes and outings after the football games, one in particular...and although you moved quickly through my days there in High School when we were both so young with our futures innocently bright ahead...although our connection was brief...I carry those shared experiences of knowing you then in my heart...<3

Chris and I crossed paths at Strategic Mapping in the mid-90s. I enjoyed encountering his gentle, open grace in the break room or outside one of our cubicles. Yesterday, I cried when I found his spirit memorialized with his name on a wall at the George W. Bush Presidential Center at SMU in Texas, and was able to share my admiration for him with others there. I am honored to carry his memory with me and offer my love and condolences to friends and family.

Here I am again, thinking of you Chris Wemmers and our years together at Stetson. Your memory lives on in my heart and I will continue to check in when moved to do so. I found a photo of you in my glove box a while ago, I must have taken it out to share with someone and now I don't know where I put it ~ typical right? When I find it I will try to post it. Much love to your family and loved ones

Chris was my super cool neighbor in DeLand Florida while we were attending Stetson University in 1980s . He had a very nice sister that also attended Stetson with us. Anyway in 2016, while visiting the World Trade Center 9/11 Memorial, I wanted to just say hi and pay my respects to him although i could not find his name on the reflecting pool walls after looking for a long time. Then suddenly we were sort of pushed out of the way by a group of people lead by a photographer walking backwards who was trying to photograph the then President Duda of Poland who had just laid a wreath at the only surviving 9/11 tree. I had to quickly move in towards the wall to get out of the way and i put my hand down to steady myself as the photographer accidently almost ran into me.....and my hand went down right on the name "Christian Hans Wemmers"!!!!! Really thought Chris must have gotten a laugh out of this scuffle that lead us to his name. He sure was a nice, fun person. Glad we were able to find his name and so sorry he was there that day.

He was my friend. Played golf with him since we were children. I think about him every day. Because he did not just vanish on top of an urban mountain. He was killed. Today we still don't know, who's responsible. For me, he can not rest in peace until we find out. For me, his soul is still here, demanding answers. As cool and calm as he was, he'd like that. Because he's always been curious, never ignorant.

Chris my sweet handsome friend... I am so bummed that I didn't know that you were working in the City, I would have so liked to get together and reminisce about college days with Lizzie and Suzette and all the Delta Sigs... I can hear your deep laid back voice in my head as if we were still back in college hanging in your room listening to music and ..... and laughing away. The best of the best were taken away from us due to hate and violence and these terms I would NEVER have associated with you. It makes me so sad, I hope that you can feel how much you are loved and missed <3 ~ Kristin Powell Mahoney

Our city of Piqua, Ohio had a 9/11 Day of Honor this past Sunday. An American Flag was made by volunteers of silk roses containing the names of all victims of 9/11. There are two roses for each name. I pulled the rose containing Christian's name. I want his family to know that I am praying for them. I have a rose for them if they wish to contact me.

I got Chris, and have been praying for him since Wednesday. Its good to put a face to a name, and i will pray for Chris and his family daily.

I met Chris in Nepal and hiked with him in Yosemite the year before he died. He had a deep appreciation o those special places, and his calmness had a great effect on me. He shared his love of Yosemite with me, and I've returned there from the UK several times since. Last time I saw him was at Tuolumne Meadows; we shared a Sierra Nevada beer before he headed back to San Fran, and I hiked through Glen Aulin to Yosemite Valley. Great guy, fond memories.

Dear Chris,
it's exactly 6 year ago now that I got a call from Randy, informing me that you attended an exhibition at WTC. I was shocked and could not believe the images send through all the channels that day.
Today, 6 years after your last day on this planet, I found your site and want to say thank you.
- Thank you for your friendship during our days at Luminate, for the fantasic joint creative hours, spend together discussing and creating sales strategies.
- Thank you for your confidence during your trails teaching me how to handle that little thing called golf ball.
- And thank you for all that stunning evenings investigating the best blues clubs in SFO.
If there is an internet access near by where you are now, have a look to all that comments about your achivements and be sure that you have made a difference on earth. In the hearts of all your friends. Thank you for your time you spend with us.

Tears, shock, sadness...
As an old friend of Chris’ from our Stetson days we would look each other up every few years and reunite.
It had been a while and I thought I would search for him again. I cannot believe this, I simply cannot believe this. While I knew many people who were oh so close to the tragedies on 9/11 this brings it home like nothing else.
My thoughts go out to Chris’ family, co-workers and friends.

Chris Wemmers... A Tribute is Due
I worked with him at a company when I lived in California as a Tech Pubs Manager. Chris was the Marketing Manager. He was as brilliant in English as he was in German and knew tons of technical things: Oracle, the ever daunting SAP, and was a terrific Marketing Guru; and it is everyone's loss.
In Remembrance of you---God Bless...

Chris and I worked closely together at Luminate for several years and I have very fond memories.
Chris and I would play foosball on the average of 3 times a day. It always began with one of us stepping into the other's office and making gestures with our hands like we were turning foosball handles - that was the invitation.
Our games were usually close and much taunting and psychological positioning occurred and, truth be told, the 'psyching out' was the most fun part.
Chris, you are truly missed.

In September of 2000, my wife planned a special trip for us to go to San Francisco for my birthday. When we were there, we met up with her longtime friend from high school, Barbara, and Barbara's friend, Chris. It was the first time we had met Chris. The four of us ate at a nice French restaurant in Haight-Ashbury, stopped in to a jazz club for great tunes and drinks, and went to the top of Twin Peaks to see the beauty of the bay at night. The whole time, Chris was incredibly warm and open, with a mischeivous smirk that said 'let's have some fun.' And we all did. We talked about going climbing in the desert mountains some time in the near future. Our meeting was brief, but so memorable. And so fun.

A fraternity brother and very good friend from Stetson University, we got into many hijinks and fun and somehow found our way from the bubble of college life into this world. Hearing of your fate, seeing your picture on this site, I wish we could crawl back into "the bubble" and Listen to Dylan's "highway 61" on the turntable, crack open the beers and hang out one more time.

I went to Thunderbird with Chris and am deeply saddened by this loss and regret not having known him better -- especially in my last 3 years in the Bay Area. From the tribute he seems like a remarkable soul and kindred spirit. My deepest condolences to the friends and family of Chris, and may God bless you all.

I was in school at Thunderbird with Chris. I can't say that I knew him well but as a fellow T-Bird, I know that we shared a lot of the same interests - all T-birds do. I just learned that he also went to Stetson Univ. I went to Stetson Law. It is sad to think that I missed knowing him better when we appearently had a lot in common. Your untimely passing brings sadness to us all. May your friends and family have the same peace that you have found.

I only knew Chris for a short time while working with him at Callixa. We would have lunch together at some of the great little trendy restaurants around the financial district. They were good times and good memories. I had left Callixa early August and only learned about our loss of Chris two weeks after the attack. It completly reopened the rip in my heart. For those who did not know Chris, his picture tells it all, he was as kind and gentle as his picture dictates.
See you on the other side Chris.

I knew Chris from Stetson University in DeLand, FL, when he joined the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. I was struck by how he was a classy exception to the usual rowdy frat types, and he helped to usher in a new era in which social fraternities exhibited a sense of class and purpose, instead of the Belushi stereotype. I was especially honored that he chose me to be his fraternity father, as I was President at the time of his joining. I finally made it to San Francisco last year, and I can deeply identify with why Chris was so taken with the area. I am truly blessed to have known him, and for the first time, this tragedy has come to have the truest sense of personal loss for me and the rest of his friends from Delta Sig.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

The last time I saw Chris, about a week before he died, we were sitting on a hill overlooking the San Francisco Bay, watching the sky and the fog change. He told me that one of the things he knew about his life was that he had been well and deeply loved.
I hardly knew him, but I will think of him from time to time when I take hikes in the hills near San Francisco, and be glad that for whatever he was seeking when he died, he had that assurance at heart that he had been loved.
