Thinking of you and your family
Michael Ogden
March 8, 2025
Amy, I smile as I think back on the laughter we shared all those years ago-some 35 summers and winters past. I still see your bright eyes, hear the echo of your voice, and feel the warmth of the memories we created. I´ll never forget your sweet mother, Anita, or your grandfather, Bob, whom you adored so dearly. Their love shaped you, and in turn, you left your mark on the world in ways that still linger like a favorite melody.
Here I am, 10,000 miles from Selden, standing at the edge of an endless rice paddy in Malaysia. The sky is awash in gold and crimson as the sun settles into the horizon, and I think of you. I imagine you here, taking it all in-because you were always meant to roam, to see, to taste, to experience life beyond the familiar. It pains me still to know you never got the chance to chase all the horizons that awaited you. The world was meant to be your canvas, and yet, in a moment, the story shifted.
And yet, Amy, I know you are not lost. You live on-in the hearts you touched, in the laughter of those who remember, in the love you left behind. You are in the rising sun, the whisper of the wind, the kindness of a stranger. You are in the places you dreamed of seeing, in the journeys you inspired others to take.
So tonight, as the last light fades, I send this thought into the twilight: You are missed. You are loved. And you are, always, remembered.

I was the first person to put on the wtcmemorial.com site days after 9/11. A family member reached out and asked me to post in the hopes of finding her. 12 years later I still remember your name. My oldest daughter's (age 12) middle name is Hope. I wanted to let everyone know that you touched people who never had the privilege to meet you. God bless you and your family.

My former employer used a company that Amy's brother Gary Sachs worked for. He and I kept in touch for a while, then I could not reach him anymore. We have prayed for the family a lot and Remember Amy and the family especially today (9-11). I wish I could talk to a family member and see where Gary is today. Prayers for all 9-11 victims and their families.

Amy cotacted me in August about an event she was organizing in late September 2001. We talked a few times on the phone. She was always upbeat and friendly and we joked a little. After 9/11, I phoned her office to find out if the event was still going to take place. Then I heard the horrible voicemail greeting she had left, saying that on 9/11 she would be out of the office attending a conference at Windows of the World on the 107th floor of WTC 1. I called her company's office in London and my fears were confirmed. For some reason I can't explain, knowing that Amy had perished made me feel quite different about 9/11, in ways I still don't wish to describe. I had a brief, distant interaction with Amy. I feel so sorry for the people who knew her well, and all the people who lost loved ones on 9/11. May God grant you peace.

Our local school department made wristbands with individual names on each one of those who died on 9/11/2001. I work for my town and my wristband had the name of Amy Lamonsoff. We wore these wristbands all day during work. I will keep her in my prayers and all those who died on 9/11.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
