To my great LOVE .Today 20 years after that horrible day that you left our side, there was not a single day that I did not have you in my mind, my heart and I missed you so much. 20 years have passed in which we could have done so many things together and above all watch over our children, see them grow, I want you to know that I try to raise them the best I could and that you feel very proud of who they are today. I love you to infinity until we can meet again, meanwhile take care of us. I LOVE YOU FOREVER. ♥

Hi Manuel, another year and yet you're thought of by many. Not one day goes by remembering your smile, kind, thoughtful heart, being funny at times. Your goddaughter Shelby thinks of you and what it be having you around her with guidance, support, input of her late teens, college and more. Seeing you around your loving family. We miss you Manuel. Always in ours Maritza, Hannah, Shelby.... Keep watching over us.

Dear Dad,
I am going down to the 9-11 Memorial Center tomorrow to pay tribute to you. Carolyn is going with me. I wish you could have met her. I know that you really would have liked her. She is really good to me and has a good sense of humor. Something you and I always had in common. From the pictures I have seen the New Memorial looks beautiful. They put in fountains, trees and plaques. I know that you would have liked it. Thank you for looking down on me each day. I hope that you would be proud of me. You will always be my Hero. I miss you and love you with all my heart. I will never forget the memories that we had together.
Love always from your son,
David

To A BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL, Admirable, Caring, Giving man who is loved and remembered by his wife Barbara, his sons CHRISTOPHER and MANNY. It's been 8 years of sadness but yet we see you in every corner we turn too- home, familiar sites, etc. Memories of you will ALWAYS be in our HEARTS. You're not to be FORGOTTEN.A man loved by so many,You touched many peoples heart. You were a GREAT son, brother, uncle ,husband, father. Manuel this year, 2009 has been the worst ever for me.Our son Manny, now 7yrs old, realizes why you're not here with us but yet asks many questions of "WHY", why you, why that place? Manny, as well as Christopher misses their father- YOU. Remember, Manny was in my wound when you were KILLED. Its difficult, sad for me to EXPLAIN to our son of you being taken away from us. Manny though young tries to understand. Christoper is doing well. You'd be proud of him, now 18yrs old, attends St. Johns University.Christopher does his best helping me with Manny, Big Brother that he is.
We know GOD has you with him, WE have you as OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL, always looking over us.
R.I.P my LOVE,
for you are Missed Endlessly

Como eu te recordo meu irmao!!! Tenho tantas saudades tuas.

My dad was a great man. I miss him dearly. Seven years later it's still sinking in what actually happened to him on that horrible day in September. My father was my hero and I would have liked to spend more time with him before he passed on. I love you more than words can say dad, you will always be in my heart and I look forward to the day that we will be together again in heaven. I miss you dad.
Love,

I met Manuel DaMota when I was General Manager of Morgenthal-Frederics on Madison Avenue. He was in charge of completely redoing our store with fine custom woodwork and cabinetry which was, in short, exquisite. Manuel was an absolute genius at his work. We spoke often as his knowledge of woodworking was extensive. He was pleasant and a delight to be around. He knew that I lived in Valley Stream. He called me one day and told me that he was going to buy a house there. He asked me if I would show him around the area. I was only too happy to comply. He picked me up in his truck after work and we went to Valley Stream to see the sights. He was a gem of a person. Someone that you'd want for your best friend. After the construction, we lost touch with one another. We did, however, run into each other one day in Valley Stream. It was a happy meeting.
In the days following September 11th, 2001. . . still in a state of shock. . . I was reading about the victims in Newsday. I felt that I had to honor the memory of all those who had died. I could not allow the day to pass without reading about folks, just like me, who left home for work that morning and never returned home. I didn't know any one's name until I got to Manuel. It started, Manuel DaMota did not work in the World Trade Center. . . he had a meeting there that morning to begin work in Windows on the World.
My seeing this good man's name only deepened my grief and sadness. There are no words for me to offer to his loved ones. Other than, my prayers and thoughts are with you. I know that Manuel is in Heaven, close to breast of Saint Joseph the carpenter and to Jesus our Lord. May he rest in eternal peace. I will always remember him.

We are very sorry for your loss of Manuel. May his wood working skills, his life and love live on in his baby to be, his other children and those who love him. Our hearts cry deeply with you in your loss of Manuel.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
