I did not know Ronnie Henderson. As you can see from previous years posts, I pulled his name out of a basket on the 1st rembrance day in San Diego. I said his name out loud and rang a bell. Every year since, I have lifted up balloons and prayer in his name; sometimes in a park and other times from my back yard above a canyon. Our nation will never forget. I hope his family is doing well and have been able to move forward a step at a time.

Today is September 11th, 2018. I often think about Ronnie Lee Henderson. I will always remember the conversations we had at the library in Redhook Brooklyn.
We would talk about life, family and making successful power moves. He would always talk to me about his children and give me the same advice(s) he would give to them.
He would tell me to look in the chief newspaper for the different job listings.I will never forget you Mr. Ronnie Lee Henderson.

Remembering Ronnie Henderson on this anniversary of 9/11............
Prophetess Shirley D. Henderson
July 14, 2015
No one knows my husband, Ronnie Lee Henderson, as I do. I was his wife for eighteen years (18) and I know the true heart of this man who I admired. He would not want his legacy to all about money but my husband would want you to know that He was first and foremost a man of God. He dedicated his life to following the WORD OF GOD and helping others along the way. He was a man of principle and integrity. I am the woman who shared his life and had his children. Who could know him better but God! Mrs. Shirley D. Henderson or Prophetess Shirley D. Henderson.

My name is Jarret Michael, I am a student in the Carroll County school system. I am in a Summer program about 9/11, My teacher is Mike Chravala. We took a trip up to the WTC memorial, and the tribute center. At the tribute center I bought a bracelet, It had Mr. Ronnie Henderson's name on it. as soon as we made back to the bus I immediately researched his name. I learned about his tours in Vietnam and his tour in the gulf. He went to the fire department after that and he was an FDNY Firefighter. He was out of Red Hook Brooklyn. He was Engine company 279. when they arrived on seen he rushed into the buildings, he died at the age of 54. He left behind a wife and four kids.

I knew Ronnie and must say that he was full of life, energy and smiles...even when the weight if the world was on his shoulders. I also know that this man truly loved his children and put them first over and above anything else in this world. I know Ronnie is in heaven looking over his family...may all his family find peace in knowing that Ronnie was a good, kind man who earned respect and fondness from others during his lifetime and may you all find happiness knowing that Ronnie gave his life for others and certainly not in vain.

I hare known Ronnie my entire life. To me he was a man of little words, and alot of action. He has always given me words of wisdom to enhance and better my life. He is my brother in-law. His brother Valestine Henderson was with my sister Catherine Butler but again,, i have known the henderson family my entire life. Ronnie was an asset to society, a jewel in his families lives, and a long time friend. He always looked like a mean guy but when you talk to him you get insight, wisdom, and a sense of purpose. I've cried for you,, now I'm just being strong. I have been silent the past 10 years just holding it all in, just want the family to know he has not and never will be forgotten by the Butler family 323. Sharon, Belinda, Bernice, Val.. love you all and please stay in touch.

I still have the newspaper photo of Ronnie Henderson at my desk. Today I glanced at it and realized he and all of the others have been gone
5 1/2 years. I rang a bell for him in San Diego on the 1st anniversary and think of him every anniversary since. I know he is keeping watch over his family while he sits at the foot of our Heavenly Father.

I miss my husband, Ronnie and every day I pray and ask the Lord to help me make it through another day. To help my four children, Marshall, Lakimmie, Hashim and Doron to always remember that their father loved them all equally. He was a dedicated husband, father, and committed to helping those in need. He loved being a United State Marine. My Husband Ronnie was a die-hard patriot. He was a man of integrity and principles. He felt as a man one must stand for something or you would fall for anything. Most of all he loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He had no fear. For fear was not given to us by God but love and a soundmind is what Jesus gave his children. I end my entry with faith that we as a family (Ronnie Henderson's Family) shall meet one day in the Kingdom of God and be united in peace, joy and love. God Bless my husband and all the fallen heroes of the Fire Department, Police Department, and the innocent people who worked at the WTC who also lost their lives September 11, 2001. They, too, are heroes and we should as a country remember them.
Love Shirley D. Henderson

We thank Ronnie for dedicating his life to help others as a firefighter. Such devotion comes with a brave, warm and caring heart. As I read his story it said he was "a millionaire by his heart." What a warm reflection of his heart, that statement says it all. My Ronnie's millionaire qualities, his courage, lif and love live on in those who love him.
We are deeply sorry for your loss of Ronnie. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
