I´m looking up a few names that stood out to me, as I took pictures at the 911 memorial yesterday. A pink carnation was drooping just beautifully over his name.

Maureen, as we approach the 20th anniversary of Jim’s tragic death we are reminded of our trip with the two of you to the Pennsylvania Amish country 50 years ago. Jim was a dear college and fraternity friend. Blessings to you and your family.

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

The Halvorson family,
My wife pulled Jim's name in a rememberance on Temple University campus yesterday. While a Marine serving in the Gulf I appreciated the letters written by fellow Americans during some of my toughest hours. I hope our love and thoughts can be felt by your family during this most difficult time.

I decided to sign this guest book after seeing and hearing your name so many times.
My mother's maiden name is HALVORSEN and even though it's spelt differently, I think about you often. I wonder if, way back when, our family trees are really one.
I hope that you've gotten a chance to meet my grandpa- Willie Halvorsen. He's been up there in heaven for a while- since I was 3. He was only in his early 50's when he became an angel.
Please continue to watch over all of us!

Special people such as Jim leave an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him. Never will we forget our friend, Jim, who enriched our lives. His greatest legacy are the remarkable wife and son he left behind.

My family and I are so moved by the thoughts and prayers of so many friends and associates of my husband Jim. He was a man who would have been surprised that he touched so many people. He was good at everything he did in life, but never boastful. He was someone who really valued the important things-his family, work and friends. We will never be the same without him. But we are better because we had him to love. We are honored by your words and thank you for helping to restore our basic faith in the goodness of most people. God bless you and America.

When I heard of the WTC attack, your name leapt into my mind and I lifted you up in prayer. Our friendship goes back to childhood. We were confirmed and graduated together and had many good times as teenagers. God rest your soul, Jim. My deepest sympathy goes out to your mother, wife, son and the rest of your family. Sincerely,

I am so deeply sorry for you loss. I worked with Jim many years ago in the Marine and Energy Dept. at Marsh. We shared the same birthday and had an annual lunch with Bob Newhouse. My prayers are with you always.
Jim was truly a good friend and great person to work with.

In December I purchased the Mercy Band bracelet..not knowing whose name I would receive. When I slipped the bracelet on my arm I felt a warm presence like that of angels. It may have been this wonderful man letting me know that he appreciated my committment to pray for his family as long as I am able. I am grateful for the small tribute I can pass on within my city to a very nice gentleman.

If it is true that a man's worth is set not in dollars, but in the people he has affected, then Jim was indeed a very rich man. He is and will be missed, but I am better for having known him for an all too short a period of time.
My prayers and thoughts are with Jim and his family often.

We are very sorry for your loss of James. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
