I worked with Hopper in Mnct great guy full of energy. Big heart and a great co worker. Saddened and was shocked by his passing.. Today marking 14 years ago on this terrorist attack anniversary we relive the sadness and anger. Gone too soon, rest in eternal peace.

Today, Sept 8, 2013 I participated in a 10K run in Sacramento, CA "Run to Remember". At the finish we were handed an American flag and we could place it at the name of someone who perished that day. I randomly choose Mr Hopper. It was an honor to run in him memory.

I never met James in life but we did cross paths after his death, I was a 14 year veteran of the NYC Dept. of corrections, support service unit assigned to work with NYPD’s emergency service unit at the trade center site. The evening James was found, NYPD officers had identified him by his retired Correction officer ID card, An NYPD lieutenant contacted me on the radio and I reported to the area where James had been resting, as I arrived a priest handed me his bible and had me read a prayer out loud for James, I was surprised how nervous I was, after I finished the priest also read from the bible, James was covered with an American flag, By this time officers of the NYC correction departments emergency service team had arrived, WE the officers of the NYC Dept. of correction carried James thru the rubble and for that time as we walked all was quiet, all work stopped, It is and was an honor to have the opportunity I was given to do this for James.
God Bless,
Eddie Raymond

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
