I met Arthur when my parents and I immigrated to the United States from Russia. He was my mother's American cousin. We will never forget the kindness and generousity Arthur and his lovely wife Susan showed us in our new country. Arthur supported us tremendously in the early stages of our new life and continued to be a good friend during later years. He truly touched our lives. My parents and I will forever miss him.

Dear Uncle Arthur,
I had some wonderful childhood memories pop into my head as I thought of you yesterday... Knicks games, Rangers games, fiddling with your ham radio, taking me along with you on errands. I've been told you baybsat me as a toddler. I know you must have made it fun for me. As I'm sure you are now doing for others in heavan.

Susan,
My wife Cathy and I met you a couple of years ago on a day long trip to West Point. Although we were never close friends, I knew Artie before you were married. It was only on 9/11/02 that I found out that Artie had been so cruelly taken. I cried for him, for your family (I know you also lost your son, Kenny), and for you.
Artie was a warm and friendly person. I hope that your wonderful memories of him will keep you strong.

Even though I was not the one who worked with this beloved man, I knew him through my husband, Joe, through his humorous stories about Artie, and then eventually meeting Artie and his loving partner in life, Susan. We would thru the many years of work-related social activities met,,,and what most struck me was his great love for his family. His sincerity, his extraordinarily kind heart...the last day I saw Artie and his wife, Susan we were all at a Jet game,,,,and true to his kind disposition, he got us GREAT tickets for the opening game,,,,and he made sure he made his dear friend JOEY lunch,,,,,,his back was killing him...but he made sure we were looked after....nothing was ever too much trouble...how deeply fortunate Joe and I were to have had such an incredible friendship with him and his wife....something I shall cherish all my days...I know, personally, I view life much differently after this overwhelming tragedy.....also for me, there isn't a day that has gone by yet that I don't think of the entire Simon family....pray to God for some kind of peace in all of their lives..my last memory of you Artie is that wonderful sight of you and Susan sitting behind your car...and Susan having her little appointment book and all of us planning our new outing together,,,,it is a wonderful cherished memory, there was so such sincere feelings that day of friendship, oh how lucky we were to have known you, loved you as a good friend....May God Bless your Family dear Arthur,,,Thanks for sharing part of your life with ours.......Fondly, Diane Pakenham

Dear Artie:
You were a pleasure to know: easy-going, calm, very much involved with your family. The tragedy that took you away from everyone is unforgiveable. Everyone misses you, and your cute schticks, etc.; memories of you will live on. On behalf of Beth, Tracy and Jared, we pray that your soul rests in peace.

Uncle Arthur,
I think of you and Ken every day and know that you are both in a safe place. Although you are both unable to be physically present for family holidays, I know you are always there in spirit! We all miss you greatly and will be sure to make you proud. Cheer me on in spirit on friday while I take my Physical Therapy board exam, the very same way you did watching my lacrosse games in high school. I never got the chance to thank you for that....Thank you.
Love always,
Emily

What a wonderful love story. We are deeply sorry for your loss of Arthur. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
