I just found an old issue of Grad News from St. Francis Prep. Cono was in my graduating class though we didn't know each other. It sounds like he was a wonderful person and I would just like to send my condolences to his family and friends. It must still be hard.

Remembering the boy who used to help out at his father's pizza place and his father's wish for him to go to college and have a better career/life. The irony of it all. My heart goes out to Emilio and his wife & daughter. Hard-working people who should all be together today; not separated by death.

My brother in law was the kindest and funniest person. I have fond memories of the Halloween parties he and my sister would throw and how he'd always give me his egg roll when he ordered Chinese food. It sounds silly but that's how he was. Always thinking of others. I miss him always

Vicki & Family,
Thinking of Cono as I watch a recent show on GMA about the departed - they are always here. I had the pleasure of working with him in New York City before he went to Cantor. I was called up from our Phila BNP Paribas office to be trained as his replacement before moving the office back to Phila. He was a great teacher and a kind person. He helped me learn many things so I could advance my career along. I now work at QVC in West Chester, PA managing the company's investments. He is still missed!

Dear Vicki,
I recently went to the website for the United in Memory Quilt, and I was very moved to see your note to Cono on the patch I made for him, and that you put his picture on it as well. I hope it gave you some comfort to have a tribute to him among all the others that were there. I don't know if you remember me...we went to Prep together, and Cono sat next to me in a few of my classes. I can't believe it's been more than five years...I'm still so deeply sorry.
Love and prayers,
Kristine Mansfield (Csillag)

Hello Vicki and Family,
My name is Bill Jones and I worked with Cono at BNP Paribas in 95 & early 96. Cono and me shared temporary housing accomodations in Pennsylvania for a couple of months due to an office transfer before he returned to NY in April of 96. I also had the pleasure of attending your wedding in September of that year. Although I only worked with Cono for 8 months, he quickly became a close friend. One I think of often and will never forget. I hope that time is helping you to heal and the spirit of Cono's love is touching you each day.
My best to you and your family.

Although I had only met Cono once, we shared an uncle and aunt. Emilio, your sister Guiseppina married my uncle Erico. I cannot begin to imagine the pain you all feel at Cono's loss. I pray for Cono's soul, and I pray that God will comfort you all in some way. Today, especially, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I know that Cono was a special person, and I hope that you all take comfort in knowing that he touched many lives, and his legacy will live on because of who he was.

Vicky,
I made a quilt block for Cono. It will be added to a quilt that will be traveling the country. Each block is dedicated to someone who was lost on that tragic day. I know it's not particularly good, but I did my best. In a time when there was nothing I could do, it was something I could do.
As always, you are both in my prayers.

Dear Vicky,
I don't know if you will remember, but I was a classmate of yours and Cono's at St. Francis Prep. My heart goes out to you and your family and I remember you both in my daily prayers. I work at St. Francis now and we have put up a beautiful tribute to those alumni and family members we lost. Cono is among those honored. The students and faculty held a memorial mass and on each month anniversary we remember all lost that tragic day.
I have thought of you often and pray your finding comfort. May Cono's soul rest in peace. Should you ever need a shoulder to lean on or just want to talk about our days at Prep. I will be there for you. [email protected]

Dear Vicky,
I saw an alumni bulletin from my high school recently with Cono's picture among the victims. We graduated the same year but didn't know each other. From what I've read about him it's clear that you had a very special husband. Just wanted to offer my condolences. It must still be horrible six months later. I hope you find strength and hope in people around you.

Dear Vicky,
I attended high school with you and Cono. Cono sat next to me in English class Junior year of high school, and we had a lot of fun in class passing notes (not that we were supposed to be doing that). Although I haven't seen him since graduation, it deeply saddened me to think that he is gone; I guess I always thought I'd run into him again someday. I'm so very sorry.

Dear Vicky & Family,
My name is Rocco J. Gallo, I do not know if you remember me, but Cono was my second cousin. I can not begin to express how sorry I am for your loss. Even though our families were not able to see eachother that often, the pain I feel in my heart is as strong as if I lost my own brother! The whole Gallo Family from Hackensack & Parsippany, NJ express their sincere condolences. I only wish that we would have visited eachother more often in the past, in order for me to remember all of you more clearly. If possible, I would like to keep more in touch with the family, now that I am getting older. Please email me to let me know how you all are doing, and if there is anything I can do. I wanted to attend Cono's service in New York, but my Father Joseph Gallo told me that the family may not be ready, So my Nonna & Zia went instead. Again, I am so sorry for your loss and I wish all of you strength!
May God Bless you all.
Love always,

I didn't know Cono Gallo personally, but I feel a strong connection because my family, too, is descended from a line of Italian immigrants from Teggiano, Italy. My grandfather's name was Cono Federico, and my son's middle name is Cono. It's an unusual name, the name of a very strong person. I'm sure Cono Gallo was a strong individual, and I am praying for his wife and family, that they, too, will be able to be strong and to find peace.

I just wish to send condolences from our family to yours. My family grew up around the corner from Cono's family business. When I was a kid it was Emilio's and we went there for pizza twice a week. This is how we got to know the Gallos. Cono will never be forgotten. I'll always remember him for being soft-spoken and a smile on his face. God bless. Anthony Pasquin

Dear Vicky,
We don't know if you remember us, but we are Joann Pasquariello's cousins from Italy. My name's Joann and my brother Mark was a good friend of Cono when we lived in Maspeth. You don't know how much we all suffered about the loss of Cono especially my brother, even now when we speak of the whole tragedy tears pass in his eyes. My mom is a good friend of your moth-in-law, they passed so many times together as emigrants in a foreign country and still today she has not still found the courage to call Raffaella. All we would like you to know is that Cono is always in our hearts and thoughts, we pray alot for him, as he may rest in peace and for you as you may find that peace that will help you go on in life. Knowing Cono we are all sure that he is always beside you, in all you do. My brother, I and my parents send you and Cono's family our sincere condolences with the hope that you can soon live a life with less suuferance in Cono's name and how we are all sure, Cono would want.
You and Cono's family are always in our hearts and prayers,

We are very sorry for your loss of Cono. May his life and love live on in those who love him. May the sorrow in your hearts be lightened by the golden memories of the warm moments in your lives. Our hearts cry with you in your loss of Cono.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
