I was Kevin's kindergarden teacher in Lunenburg and every year I think of Kevin on September 11th. This year I am reaching out to his family and sending my memories of a wonderful "little boy" who sat and listened to a story each day and eagerly wanted to share what he heard. I remember the smiling face looking up at me and his beautiful smile. May his soul rest in peace. Elaine Goldberg Cohen

You are and always will be missed! I feel confident, but am not 100% certain, that by now we would have broken you of your bad habit of hitting a flop shot from 10-feet off the green with a 60* sand wedge! Keep and eye on us...

On the tenth anniversary of your death, Kevin, I remember talking with you just a few days before September 11th and telling you that you were so young and had your whole life ahead of you. What did I know? What I do know now is that you are with God and I hope you are at peace watching over us all. You were such a good man.

To Tommy, Kevin's Father:
10 years - seems so short yet a lifetime has passed. I think of you often. While I never met Kevin, I can see you in him. From all that I've read, a very fine young man at that - which by knowing you - is not surprising.
From these writings - a pride should remain in knowing Kevin indeed touched many lives in such a positive, meaningful manner.
I keep a vigilant prayer for comfort, peace and protection for you and your family Tommy.
May God Bless You and keep you close.

I was a brand new student in 1991 going into Junior year and not knowing anyone. One of the first people I met was Kevin. He showed me around and was one of the many great people at Lunenburg. Always positive and showed amazing sportsmanship, Kevin was such a help for a new guy. Though we were never close, he made the events of that tragic day personal. I was so glad to see that he received the gate at the Blue Knight field.

In June of 1992 I met Kevin for the first time in the North/South Hall of Fame high school football game. We practiced at Lunenburg high until we played in the game together. There I was a kid from Leominster High playing with kids from Lunenburgh. I remeber thinking to myself these small town teams don't belong here with the division one teams. Then I met Kevin Szocik and that changed. Right away I learned what a Leader Kevin was. He was full of piss and vinegar. He was down to earth and a down right winner. I only knew him for a very brief time but he left a lasting impression on me, because he was smart, strong and a leader. After that short time of playing with him I had not heard from him until this terrible event. I know he is in heaven with Jesus looking down at his family.
God bless Kevin's family all the days of your life's. God bless the U.S military as the defend Kevin's honor and the rest of the 9/11 victims honor.

Kevin was and is still a special part of the McNeill, Miller and Malone families. We think of him often, especially today, and miss his warm, enthusiastic and loving outlook on life. To his Parents, Brendon and Lisa, I wish you nothing but comfort, joy and peace today and everyday.
His bench on Long Beach, Sag Harbor, where we all spent many happy times, will be full of friends, family and well-wishers today.
He will always be in our hearts.

I did not know Kevin personally, but I know that when I visited a camp on a pond in Maine in the late 1990's, his family's camp was right next door - and his family was great friends with my cousins. So I think I of the Szocik family always on this day and pray for them and for all of the people who miss him. God bless you.

For Kevin's Parents. My wife and I went for a walk today in your son's resting place. We live in the Dunsmoor house on northfield road and so many of the people who lived in the house are resting nearby. We just wanted to see the spot and were surprised to find Kevin's marker. We dusted the mud off from all the recent rain and will remember him in our morning rosary

To my N.Y. friend, Marty McNeill --
On this second anniversary of your son-in-law's death, I have been thinking about your daughter, you and your wife, and Kevin's family. I cannot even begin to imagine your grief over the last two years. I am praying that, with God's help, time has begun to heal the huge hole in all of your hearts and that you can now take comfort in the knowledge that Kevin is safely home in the arms of God. He will always be with you and will watch over you from the place that God has prepared for him in His heavenly Kingdom, where one day you will meet again. May God bless you and keep you always.

Two years since my friend Kevin was taken from us all. At times it seems like only yesterday and other times it feels like forever ago.
I still think of Kevin everyday, sometimes in the strangest of circumstances. He is truly missed by many people and will never be forgotten.
See you when I get there Kev!

I did not know Kevin, but I am sure that he would have been someone that I would have wanted to meet. I work with his wife who is an absolutely amazing person. There are reminders of what happened on September 11th that occur every day in our place of work. But Lorraine is strong and I don't know how she does it. She is a great person to be around, always warm and caring. She deserves the best in this world and what it can offer her. She is an inspiring person, and I'm sure Kevin would be proud of her.

To Kevin's family,
What can I say...I only just found out that Kevin was a victum of this terrible tragedy.... today- the one year anniversary of his death. The news brought tears to my eyes. I did a search to see if I knew any of the Fordham Alumni who were killed, but I never expected to find Kevin's name. It brought tears to my eyes. I dated Kevin for a short time early freshman year at Fordham. He was truly a nice person and very kind. I remember his passion for football. He was very caring person and I have fond memories of him. I know he married his college sweetheart which was nice to hear and that he was a V.P at such a young age. My mom met him once too, and recalls him being a very nice young man. I scrounged my room for some pictures of him and so far I only found two. I know I have more somewhere, but for now I thought I would share these. My thoughts and prayers are with you Kevin, and your family.

To Kevin's Friends, family, and loved ones,
On behalf of the Class of 1991 of Lunenburg High school our deepest sympathies and heartfelt memories of Kevin go out to you on this date. As a class we celebrated our 10th year reunion in Nov. 2001. It was very difficult to do so with the events of the 11th and the loss of a fellow Blue Knight just a short time behind us. We recently made a donation as a class to the new athletic field in Lunenburg. When thinking of a charitable cause, the class secretary (Robin Bertram Bursch) and myself decided to give to something that reminded us the most of Kevin. We hope that the athletic field was the perfect choice. Although Kevin was one year behind us, he was most certainly a strong figure of leadership, integrity, academic achievment, and true grit to the entire school. I know I can speak on behalf of our class when I say that he will never be forgotten by any one of us.

To the Szocik family,
I am writing this in disbelief. I heard about Kevin the Sunday after the 11th. I stood in shock at the news that came to me on that day. After four seasons of high school football at Lunenburg, I realized a couple of things about Kevin. You could count on him for anything. He gave me a ride home once about 5 years ago when I was home on leave and had a few too many. He forgave and forgot almost immediately. I still vividly remember snapping that shotgun punt over his head in our junior year against Littleton. He was tackled for a loss and a broken arm. Not once did he get on my case about that. The last thing I knew about Kevin was that he would go far. He quietly displayed a work ethic and competitive spirit that somehow managed to make those around him rise to the occasion. I will always remember Kevin, as he now becomes another reason for why I continue to serve. My thoughts and prayers...

To the Szocik family and friends: I was so sorry to hear that Kevin was lost in the 9/11 tragedy. I met Kevin through high school football, I was the quarterback for Maynard High and he was ofcourse the QB for Lunenburgh. We were roommates at a football camp one summer and we hit it off right away and became friends on and off the football field. Although we lost touch as we got older, I will never forget the fact that he was such a nice person and had such a great sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in this difficult time. Please email me if there is ever anything I can do to.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
