The day is here. It never misses its appointed time. Nevertheless, the tinged tone of hope rings in my ear. Yes, a tinge of hope that this year (when your name, Rhondelle Cherie Tankard, is called aloud) a mighty cloud of wind sweeps in to strengthen and empower all impacted of 9/11. Our world needs to be made whole. Today, I encouraged every Daughter of Destiny to fulfill destiny like never before declaring wholeness throughout our world. Wherever we go, you go too! However we impact the world for Christ, you do too! You will never die, for we continue to share your witness worldwide AND call your name aloud!

Daring to be A DOD,

We never made it to our brunch appointment on 9/11/01. God rescheduled it for heaven. You arrived earlier than I expected, I'm still awaiting my time. Nevertheless, you're never forgotten, always remembered. Wherever I go, your legacy and witness goes as well. We -- together and forever tied on 9/11 with our witness -- continue to draw others into the Kingdom of God.

Rhondell you have been on my mind all week leading up to today. I still remember your "leaving do" here at Aon Bermuda. You seemed so excited for the opportunity to go and work in NY and we wanted you to know how proud we were of you. I am sad that you are no longer with us but it comforts me that you were where you wanted to be. I pray for your family today as I am sure they still feel the loss and wish them continued peace and blessings.

I am from Bermuda and every Sept 11th I look out for the names of Rhondelle and Boyd Gatton to be called out when they do the annual WTC memorial roll call on TV. Just heard Rhondelle's name and felt comforted she is indeed at eternal rest. I just wish, if any family member is reading this, that a picture of Rhondelle can be submitted to the 9/11 memorial organizers so that others can always see a face to her immortalized name when called in the future. I never knew them nor do I know the family but my heart continues to ache for them and how they died so tragically. May God continue to comfort and bless the families of all the 9/11 victims.

Our breakfast was changed to lunch. It was set for September 11, 2001 at 12:30 PM. Neither of us made it to the restaurant. Yet, that morning I told you what was placed on my heart: THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU TO SO MANY. We did not share breakfast or lunch, we shared a glorious savior, Jesus Christ.

Almost eleven (11) years later, we, Daughters of Destiny International, continue to praise God for your faithful service to the Bermuda Chapter (2000-2001). Your witness as a Daughter of Destiny -- a girl/woman who is equipped to fulfill her divine destiny and the divine mandates given her local church...-- will remain our shared witness. Although you were led to "GO" and I to "STOP," your obedience to divine instructions broadcasted the Father's need for you. That, for us all, will be your greatest song of victory.

Our prayers continue to undergird Rhondelle's family, friends, colleagues and the New Creation Worship Centre family.

I wore your name on a pin that was provided by my school yesterday. Im a senior at a st.louis high school and in honor of 9/11 we each received names of individuals lost on that day 10 years ago. It was just a random hand out, but i wanted to know a little about the person i was representing, this is one of the things i found. It looks to me like you were and still are a hugely loved woman

Rhondelle, I will forever feel responsible for you being there that day. You are always in my prayers. I thank your Mom for forgiving me as I only wanted the best for you. You were a talanted young woman who had her whole life ahead of her. I am sorry the way things turned out, but I know you were glad that I recognized the talent that was within you.

Rhondelle, I sit and think of you today, on what would have been your 40th birthday. Our love/hate relationhip would have me calling you, 'old timer' even though i go 40 a mere week later....lol. All through West Pembroke, and Warwick Academy, we'd argue about our ages....you know how kids do. lol
I am not sure what happened that fateful day, but I know God does. I also know you are safe in His arms....just where you wanted to be.
Happy Birthday in Heaven, Rhondelle.
peace

September 11th hit home with many Bermudians because of you, Rondelle. I was in the same year with you at WA...that fact alone sent a chill down my spine...we were the same age when you were taken from us...too young!!

When I watched the horror unfold on TV I would never have guessed that anyone I knew would have been there. I couldn't believe you were there - the kicker was that you were ready to start a new and exciting stage of your life and career. So unfair!

I'm quite sure you'll be watching over your friends and family...helping from the other side, waiting for all to cross over someday. God Bless!

I miss you lady! My heart aches still like the first time I heard...some days are harder than others. I still hear your laughter and your stern, bossy voice when directing us in the AME MASS Choir. Still see you trying to hide a smile when your baby girl was cooing from her pumpkin seat when you were trying to direct us. I'm sorry that your God-daughter never knew you as she would've learnt so much from you. You also had plans for her long fingers (lol). I'll never forget you, nor Granny Bean. Forever loving you in Heaven. Also to her family, know that your Angel touched a lot of hearts...Selah

I remember Rhondelle from high school at WA and while she was working at Aon in Bermuda, as I would often see her passing my office window mornings as she walked to her job. While we didn't know one another well, the one thing we did share was a faith in Jesus Christ. So even on this 7th anniversary, I'm saddened when I think of her death, but encouraged when I think of the life she now lives with her Lord and Saviour... And I have peace in knowing that we will see each other again one day. Grace & Peace Sister Rhondelle.

We may never know the reason why
The Lord allowed His flower to die
But I know one thing, and this I tell..
Our God doeth ALL things well!

Rhondell was precious in God's sight and very dear to us. She will live on forever in our hearts. We miss her.

I attended Warwick Academy with Rhondelle. She was a good friend whom I shared many laughs with in the school choir, on the netball team and on the number 9 bus home. She will be sadly missed.

Rhondelle was a vital part of our Church family here at New Creation Worship Centre. She was our Minister of Music, a faithful member, a hard worker, a consistent support to the ministry and a friend. She had faith in God and a personal relationship with Him. Words cannot explain how much we miss her. But we know that God is sovereign and we have released her into His almighty hands. We will always love and remember you Rhondelle.

Rhondelle when I first met you we got on right from the start. You were one of my favorite clients when I worked at Strands. I always looked forward to our chats and I remember how excited we were when we were both getting our Tigra's. It's sad that you were taken from us so early on in your life. I shall remember you and our conversations always with a smile on my face. My condolences go out to your family. I am sure Rhondelle is looking down on you now. God Bless you Rhondelle as I am sure he already has.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
