"The meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."-Psalms 37:11. This is a promise from the Almighty for such like ones, like your heroic loved one. But as for those who causes harm to others Isaiah 57:21 says: "There is no peace...for the wicked."
Your loved one will be resurrected to peaceful earth where righteousness and goodness is to dwell. My heart goes out to all of the families who lost a loved one on this day.
Sincerely,

Dear Sal,
I never knew you that well, but I remember you well. I was one of your neighbors, and young when you were around. Your family has since moved, and I hope they are doing well. You will forever be missed, and I will always remember your Jedi license plate.
Your friend and neighbor,
Daniel

Salman, I never knew you that well, but you are very close to my heart. Your mother and father, Talat and Salim were very close to me. I even went to high school with your mother at St. Lawrence. You were born the same time as my daughter and may your soul rest in peace.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mohammed - an American patriot. His family can be so proud that he was helping other people when he passed away. God bless Mohammed's family and friends. We will not forget.

Over the last six months I have been reading the moving story of Mohammed's disappearance on 9/11 and the awful, unjustified suspicion that he might have had connections to the terrorist movement. My heart ached for his parents as they defended their son insisting that he was a true patriot and had probably lost his life volunteering in the rescue effort at the WTC site. Last month I was gratified to hear that his remains had been found at Ground Zero and positively identified. I can only imagine what consolation that must have been to you to prove to the world that your son did indeed die a hero!
Although your grief at losing your beloved son must be a deep pain that you will carry in your hearts for the rest of your life I know how proud of him you are; indeed, your eulogy at his memorial service said that much.
I just want to tell you how honored I am to call him a fellow citizen and New Yorker. He is proof positive that the best Americans and New Yorkers are often made, not born here, because they have actively chosen a country and city to love where many others are here just by an accident of birth.
I mourn the loss of such a precious asset to our society as Mohammed who, by his service to all of us, would have continued to try to make this world a better place. And I salute you, his parents, for your role in guiding to maturity such a wonderful son. He is certainly a model for all of us.
May God bless you all until you meet again in heaven someday!

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
