Fitness With Finance

Bill Moskal's business and personal lives were wrapped around sports and fitness. As a risk consultant for Marsh & McClennan, he made sure potential clients were insurable. In recent months, his projects included proposed new stadiums for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and the Cincinnati Bengals pro football team.

At home in the Cleveland suburbs, he worked out daily. He would run with his dogs. At age 50, he boxed and wrestled once a week. He coached teams in every sport his 13-year-old son, Andy, played. He juggled business trips, including a Sept. 11 meeting at the World Trade Center's north tower, around family activities. As his wife, Lorraine, said, "He was always available to us. He was truly the other half.

"He loved opera," his wife added. "When we had a memorial service for him, I joked with the priest that he would have loved to have had Andrea Bocelli sing `Ave Maria' because he adored him. There was a memorial service the next day at ground zero in New York. I couldn't make it, but I watched on television. Andrea Bocelli was there and sang `Ave Maria.' Quite a coincidence."

On this 20 year anniversary of 9/11, of course we can't help but reflect on all the lives lost that day. Bill was a neighbor and while I didn't know him that well, I do know that he was a person of faith and integrity. In my mind, there are not two better qualities in being a human being. God bless you Lorraine along with Andy and Jessica. He is still very much alive in your beautiful family.

I sat in my school desk right behind Bill in Garfield Jr. High School; also our Homeroom at the Greater Johnstown High School. We Graduated together in 1969. I just want to say that although our time together was sporadic, & having short connecting moments; I'll always remember Bill as one of the most pleasant; gentle & intelligent persons I've ever known! My memories of Bill will be with me all of my life! Thanks, Bill! Gary

You are in my thoughts today as I watch the 15th anniversary 9/11 ceremony in NYC. I watched the towers go down that day from NJ, where there are many Moskals, and I celebrated the birthday in heaven of my father (William B Moskal) yesterday. He was born Boleslaw Moskal in Passaic, NJ. His nephew and namesake Bill Moskal lives near Philadelphia. Rest in Peace.

To the family of William David Moskal - you will never be forgotten! I work for Daniels Family Funeral Services in New Mexico and want you to know that I selected Mr. Moskal's name and colored a white dove in his memory. The doves for each of the 9-11 victims will be placed on white flags and together with an American Flag will be placed in our cemetery for our remembrance ceremony. God bless you and keep you! Ruth

I sat right behind Bill for a number of years in home rooms at Garfield Jr. High and Johnstown High School. (Bill was the smart one)! We talked at the beginnings & endings of each school day. Conversations I'll always remember. Bill was a Joy ! Our journeys took different paths, His success was achieved with peoples physical needs, mine continues to address their Spiritual needs, as a pastor. I'm looking forward to the day in which we share together all our adventures. My thoughts and prayers reach out to you all, family & friends, often ! God's Blessings!

I worked with Bill at the Reds ballpark in Cincy; although I did not know him very well,I believe his spirit continues. God is good all the time.

December 11, 2013

I had written on another tribute site, but came across this site while looking for some information on a distant family member.

Bill, I still think about you every now and then. Our work on the Bengals Stadium and Reds Ballpark, not to mention Fort Washington Way were very memorable experiences for me. I certainly gained a great deal of knowledge from you which in turned has helped me on more than one occaision with the clients I serve. I also remember the times in which we talked about our respective families, music, and sports. Those memories are one's that I hold onto and remember with great pleasure. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you and your family.

As I noted on another site - "A good man and a good person, I count myself very fortunate to have met and known Bill Moskal."

God Bless,

hello, my name is Gary Mosorjak and I live in Johnstown Pa. Bill and I attended Garfield Jr. High School together. Those classes went from 7th to 10th. grades. from '63-64 to 1967. I knew bill every morning. He sat right in front of me those years in homeroom. We had different journey's He was so smart ! Johnstown was a steel mill town and I went into the mills. I didn't last long in Bethlehem steel due to the flood of '77 . and in 1990 I became a pastor within the church of the brethren, of which I pastor the Westmont Church of the Brethren now. I just want to say that I found Bill to be a wonderful, and delightful Classmate and can still see him those many mornings before our other classes and back again, before returning home at the end of a school day, sharing how our day went ..having jokes and laughing together are times i'll never forget. I just learned of his passing at our last class reunion and i am so glad I found this memorial page for him . Bill was always a joy to me in those school days and I wanted you to know I am happy and proud to be even that very small part of his life here with us ! God's Blessings to all your family ! Dear Moskal Family,
On the day of September 11th, 2001, I was in my kindergarden classroom. I didn't know about the tragic events that weren going on that day. All I really remember was seeing my parents watching the news, and reading the paper with sadness shown across their faces. I was shocked when I saw pictures of the Twin Towers burning, and hearing how many people had lost their lives. Now that I am older, I've learned a lot about September 11th, 2001. It was such a devistating day for America. But, after that day, we have never backed down. America pulled together and became stronger after 9/11. God Bless Mr. Moskal, and the Moskal family for being so brave since then. My prayers go out to your family.

Mrs. Moskal and family; I was a childhood friend of Billy; attended Bheam Elementary, Garfield and Johnstown High. Today was the memorial service in the West End for Bill; I met his mom today and showed her the yearbook with Bills picture and clubs photos. It was touching to remember Bill as the funny young guy who would tease us in chorus practice and make us laugh. His friend George Higgins spoke of the adult Bill, and It was quite moving. God has a need for good men in Heaven and I know that he is with you daily in your thoughts and memories. God Bess your family and you as you continue thru this life.

Good evening,
I have chose to honor William on 9/11
as one of the Ohio loved ones lost on that dreadful day by doing a good deed in his name. In William's name I will be donating blood. It has been signed into law that 9/11 is National Day of Service. My service will be to remember the lost. My wish is that everyone will choose at least one name and serve others in his/her name,so each of 3000 will be remembered and honored on that day.
God bless you and yours.

August 25, 2009

Hi I would like to introduce myself: I am Denise Rhodes. I am connected with a group across America that releases doves for memorial services. We are going to do a release across america in memory of those who lost their lives on 911. I am planning to add a more personal and mention those who were from Ohio. My research has showed that there were three people lost that day from Ohio . One from Mason Ohio, one from Cleveland and then your loved one William from Brecksville. There are pledge 3100 white doves to be released that day across America I have pledged to release 50 in my town of Mt Sterling Ohio. My plan is to seperate 3 of my birds out and let them be released together to represent those lost from Ohio then let my other birds be released. I welcome any ideas or comments you may have to help me with this memorial. May God bless you and be with you and your family forever Denise Rhodes. You can find out more about this release by clicking on my web site denisesdoves.com and click the flag marked "remembering 911" or you can contact me at 1-740-437-7022

Hi Family -

Not a day goes by that I do not think about my friend and colleague Bill. Yesterday I participated in a Peace Concert given at Antioch Baptist Church. It involved people of all religions and backgrounds (a minister from United Church of Christ, a nun from the Roman Catholic church, a Buddhist priest, a rabbi, an imam from a local mosque, a singer from the Hindu tradition, a priest from the Sikh tradition and our Heritage Chorale of which I am a member). I was grateful to participate as I felt it honored Bill's life and peaceful nature. Keep the faith. Love, Patricia Welcome-Butler (I got married this past May!)

Nancy & I have have "Bills" picture in our living room as a reminder of this very special person.

We will never forget Bill and you all as well. Know that the our candles shine brightly for Bill.

Dear Lorraine,Andy & Jessie,

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you all. I worked with your father in the Cleveland office of Marsh for all of the 12 years he was there. He was my friend. I remember you all being at the company picnics. Bill and I always talked about how much we loved our families and how nothing else really counted above that love. He loved you all so much. What a gentle, classy spirit! Our loss is the heaven's gain.

Love to you all. You are always in my prayers.

TO Bill's family,

Recently I heard about a project that is being done in Virginia to honor those lost due to terror over the last 30 years. All names are being stitched to form an American flag that is 30+ feet by 60+ feet.

I requested and received Bill's name to stitch. His name is stitched along with a design of the WTC as one of the red strips. I have finished the stitching and will be mailing it off tomorrow to become part of the flag.

Dear Jessica & Andrew -- my thoughts & prayers have been with you & your Mom everyday since that tragic morning of Sept. 11th. (You may not remember me -- I was a teacher's aide at BBHMS until I retired in Sept. 2000). I say a special prayer for the 3 of you you each morning when I put out my American flag - (& everytime I travel by Emerald Woods on my way to 3rd Federal Bank). I can relate to the grief that your family is going thru because I lost my first husband in a car accident; & I know how it is to lose someone so dear to you.

It seems so unfair that good people must be taken from us too early in life. Take one day at a time; & the Lord will give you the strength to get through it. Your dear Dad (& husband) will live on in you thru the wonderful memories you have of him. Sincerely, Shelby Chesko

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
