Joseph Roberto Obituary
When Joseph Roberto first met his wife, Janet, he offered her a ride on his motorcycle, a Suzuki Intruder. She hopped on. Three years later, in May 1998, they married.
Mr. Roberto, who was a bank analyst at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, was a man of many enthusiasms. He and his wife attended coin conventions. He loved motorcycles; the couple rode his Yamaha Royal Star to Virginia and West Virginia to see battlefields. He also loved wildlife, and they took their son, Joseph, who is now 17 months old, on three trips to the Bronx Zoo this summer. "We still hadn't finished the whole park," Mrs. Roberto said. "He had to read every single sign."
Each year, Mr. Roberto, 37, helped his parents put up their Christmas decorations, and he had begun to accumulate his own. The latest holiday acquisitions were two flag-waving Uncle Sams for Memorial Day, Flag Day and the Fourth of July — three- foot figures that lighted up at night. Mrs. Roberto pulled them out again after Sept. 11.
Friends from their motorcycle club, Lost Wheels, are helping Mrs. Roberto, who is pregnant, with the Christmas decorations.

I will forever remember his name. He was one of our analysts back in the day at Old Kent in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I would assist with setting up meetings when he would come into town. Always nice and pleasant to work with.

My deepest condolences to the Roberto family. I met Joe a few weeks before 9-11. He visited the law firm I was working at in lower Manhattan as part of a bank review and audit. At the time I was a young corporate paralegal and I was assigned the task of assisting in the document reproductions, food deliveries, as well as car service for him and others. Joe was a great guy and we talked sports - mostly hockey - during breaks. I did not know that he and his team had perished in 9/11 until a couple of years later when a co-worker, who had also worked with me on the project, mentioned it in passing.

My Dear Friend,
Ive ridden a 9/11 Memorial run ever since you left us. I wrote a poem about the run I want to share with you
Each year we gather for this 9/11 memorial ride
Still feeling the pain and with hearts full of pride
We come by the thousands and its as good as it gets.
We ride in remembrance so that no one forgets.
The flags that are flying are both large and small, they fly for the fallen they fly for us all.
They treat us like rock stars and smile as we ride.
But we ride every mile for those who have died
We lost friends and loved ones on that fateful day and the memories we cherish will never fade away
Red for the blood that has been spilled
White for the innocence lost
Blue for the tears

I worked with Joe at KBW; he was bright, dedicated, generous, and friendly. He would always take the time to answer the questions of a co-worker, even a fledgling computer programmer whose interest was more curiosity than anything else. He was one of the people who made me feel close to the research department initially. He has been, and will continue to be, sorely missed. My best wishes to his family.

We then went to a mass at St Augustine in honor of all that were killed on 9-11-2001. In the afternoon we went to watch Amanda's first socca game which her team won.

Clarkstown put a new memorial at street school it is beautiful. It was put up in time for Memorial day. I was standing there listing to all of the speeches when I was tapped on the shoulder and asked if I was Mrs Roberto,when I turned around to see who it was I regonized her it was Mrs McNally your 6th grade teacher at Street School. With tears in her eyes she told me what a wonderful bright boy you were. She was very sorry for our loss.
