I regret that I was never able to meet you, but I climbed 110 floors on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in YOUR honor. Since that day, the badge I wore with your name and photo has gone with me on every run on every shift I work. I thank you for your service, and for the making the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Godspeed brother, I will meet you in the kingdom of God when I am called.

Dear Aunt Joyce,
As we come upon the 6th anniversary of 9-11, I remember Scott while we grew up, especially all the Christmas's we spent at Uncle Bob and Aunt Gloria's house. He is always in my thoughts as we approach the anniversary of his passing. Tomorrow I will wear the shirt that Aunt Chris made in his honor. I hope that everyone is at peace and I will always keep Scott close to my heart.
I love and miss you all very much.

Can I ask if you were aware that the Naudet brothers' film "9/11"
includes a shot of a fireman from Duane Street returning there after both towers collapsed, who is carrying a fireman's coat with the name Kopytko on the back ? You may know the fireman in question - it
appears not to be Scott himself -
and maybe you were given the coat as a memento - I don't know. But if not, I thought you would be interested to know these things. I attach a still from the film showing the fireman and the coat.

To Scott's family, My deepest sympathies were with you on the 5th anniversary of your loss. I know what Scott did and why he did it. My brothers and I are career FF/EMT IAFF Local 4120 Mansfield CT. for 18 yrs. My DAD Local 1033 for 37 yrs. As soon as the copper 9-11 memorial bracelets became availiable I bought one with a random name on it. It was Scott's, I have been wearing it every day since I received it only to take it off and polish it, it's worn but you can still see Scott's name.
I carry him where ever I go and into every burning building and to every rescue I am involved in. To me he is still on the job doing what he loved. You should be proud of him, he gave his life for people he didn't know. Cherish his memory forever. God Bless

As we near another anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11, my thoughts are with you and your family.
I miss the chats, the emails, the jokes and most of all, I regret not being able to come down to see you when you visited my office at the WFC.
I know you're in a better place now and just want you to know that you will forever remain in my heart and my thoughts.
Scott, rest in peace.

To Scott's Family, Relatives, and Friends:
Words can never express my heartfelt sympathy to you all. I didn't know Scott personally. I remembering meeting him when he had a haircut at Pete's Hair Design here in Flushing.
I remember his sense of humor, and his way of putting everyone above his own needs. Scott was one heaven of a guy!
When I think of all the people that died and left us behind, I remember saying to myself, God took all his angels with him that day. Their mission here though rather brief, left us with guardian angels.
I believe that Scott is an angel, and will now remember him as our "GUARDIAN ANGEL" he will be assisting St. Michael the Archangel in delivering the enemy.
Thanks Scott, and please don't hesitate to visit us, when your not busy.
Your family needs to hear from you, so when you reach them touch their hearts and minds. They need your strength now and always.
See you in St. Ann's, I'll be smiling at you and Thanking you for saving my life, and the many other lives you saved on that day.

Hey Krusty,
It was your b-day yesterday ... Happy Belated Birthday! Ya know, it still all seems SO surreal ... it's like always - not really waiting for your phone call or looking out for your next e-mail - you just haven't called or e-mailed in awhile b/c you're busy w/work or something else ... it's as if you're not really gone ... ???
maybe you're my guardian angel - who knows! =) you've always looked out for me, like the "big brother" that you were since i was a kid, always ready to lend support and advice ... i'm glad i bumped back into you that day at Sullivan computer lab ... i thought to myself "Damn, he got buff!" =) you were a firefighter! whom i'm very honored and proud to know! i'll NEVER forget you! nor will anyone else whose life you've touched! i miss you tremendously! may you rest in peace! see you on the flip side when i get there! =)
Love,

We say everyone knew someone that day. I myself thought I knew one personally, and 2 or 3 of that I grew up hearing about. But then I learned of you Scott. My heart just about broke. You see, I had found out that you were my cousin. My fathers family was never very close. Your Grandmother and My Grandmother were sisters and your mom Joyce and my Dad Donald are first cousins. I promise you that my children will always know that are related to one of our nations heros and they will KNOW YOUR NAME. I am just so sorry that I was never able know you before this tragedy. To Joyce, Scott will always be in our prayers as you and your family will too.

Hello, I have wrote to your family before in relation to the Macy's Day Parade, our band was the honor band and each of us were given a firefighter, i was honored with getting Scott's name. I wore Scott's badge on my jacket during the parade in memory of his bravery. I just wanted to wish you my prayers and best wishes to everyone who knew Scott Kopytko; you knew he was a hero and now so do the rest of us. It is very important to me that you know that you are in my prayers and the rest of Pickerington's and i marched with a very special pride for Scott and everyone else. God Bless-Shannon

We thank Scott for dedicating his life to saving, protecting, and caring for others as a firefighter. Such a dedication comes with a heart full of love for his fellow man. May his courage, life and love live on in those who love him and in those who lives were touched by him. We are deeply sorry for your loss of Scott. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Christmas Eve, 2001
Dear Scott,
I never had the pleasure to meet you, but I wanted to express my feelings on this holiday. I believe Christmas is a time for Angels and on September 11, when you made the ultimate sacrifice, you became an Angel. So with that in mind, I know you are looking down on from Heaven and watching over the loved ones you left behind.
God Bless you, hero and may you and your loved ones find peace and comfort from the prayers that have been said by people all over the world.
