Catharina Robinson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 28, 2001.
She Was Aunt Patsy
When teacher conferences were scheduled for her brother's children, you could count on Catharina Robinson to be there. She kept in touch with some of her older nieces and nephews by e-mail and rewarded them for good grades.

Ms. Robinson, 45, worked in the securities section of First Union Bank, and a few months ago the company moved its offices to the 47th floor of 1 World Trade Center. Born and raised in Antigua, Ms. Robinson's husband died in a car accident six months after they married more than a decade ago, but the nine children of her three brothers and two sisters were almost like her own. Aunt Patsy, they called her.

"When her mom was pregnant with her in Antigua, her next-door neighbor looked at her stomach and said, 'Mrs. Henry, that's a little Patsy in there,'" said her sister-in- law, Thora Henry.

The two women met as children when they were in grade school in Antigua. Her sister-in-law called her "the sweetest, dearest person that anyone would ever want to be friends with."

Thora Henry said her own children didn't want a Christmas tree this year, only a portrait of their aunt surrounded by gifts.

I remember her as Patsy.

When I was younger, my Mother use to send me to Antigua every summer as soon as school closed.

My Mother's Cousin, Muff, was good friends with Patsy's Mother.

I remember that everytime we went to Antigua, Muff would take us to Patsy's mother's house.

As we got I older, we did not visit Antigua as often.

But I do remember Patsy.

My Prayer's is with her and her Family.

And May She Rest In Peace.

I have known Cathy for over 15 years. We worked together at Manufacturers Hanover/Chemical/Chase Banks. She was always quiet and friendly. It is a sad day when the world has lost a good soul, but it is a joyous day when heaven has gained a New Angel. MAY CATHY REST IN PEACE.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
