The cousin I never had the opportunity to meet. I lived my youth in NY and was there for a class reunion that day. I never knew you but our blood is the same. I will meet you some day and we will surely compare family notes and play catchup. Until then cuz!!!

Still think of you even after all of this year's funny story. Remembered the last time you called for Kenel. You said your name was Alejandro. It's funny because I actually ended up calling my son Alexander which is Alejandro in English. You help plant the seed.
Keep watching over Kenel up there. He always needs a good guy on his side.

I was thinking about you last night. The last time we spoke was when you called for Kenel and you said your name was Alejandro. It dawned on me last night that I named my son Alexander which is that in English. Keep watching over Kenel. We never forgot about you Damion.

Eleven years...still can't believe you are gone. Seemed like yesterday you were calling my house harassing me to speak to Kenel like you always do.
Keep watching over him. He has been going through a lot and sometimes I think he might loose his way.

Damion, You came into my family's life 10 years after you left this Earth. On Sept 11, 2011, a beautiful memorial in Saint Louis was constructed with a flag to honor each who had perished on 9/11/2001. The Memorial came down today, Sept 19th 2011, and my family now possess the flag with your name. Know that we will honor you and pray for your loved ones every year. We will honor your flag and display it each 9/11. You will be with us-

Dear Mrs.Mowatt,
We are sorry that your loved one is gone. We are sorry that your son was a victim of 9/11. My friend and I are writing to you beacuse we saw your son in one of our tecahers handout and thought he was a nice guy. I would have never thought your son would be a victim of 9/11 and it must be hard for you to lose a loved one. Your son would have been a great man and so I hope that you will be okay after you read this letter.

Today is the first anniversary of a day I will never forget. To commemorate this day my school (Elon University) did many things including vigils, moments of silence, discussion groups, as well as reading all the names of those who died one year ago over a pa system in the middle of campus. What really personalized the day for me (as none of my family/friends were directly effected by this tragedy) was making and wearing bracelets with victims information on them. I was lucky enough to get Damion's name and I have done my best to learn all that I can about him and think/reflect on him and his life as well as pray for him throughout the day. I feel a connection to Damion and his family and I want them to know my thoughts and prayers are with them. May God bless your family and our great nation.

Words cannot express the saddness that has been in my heart since that horrific day. As I look at all the beautiful faces of those lost, anger fills my heart. As i remind myself that anger is what did this to our nation, I find peace in knowing that one day, Almighty God will take care of this situation. You rest in peace now Damion, for heaven is your home.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
