My nephew Rob was the sweetest person in the world. He loved his family beyond measure. He was taken from us way too soon. Pray for him.

Dear family of Robert.

I went over to new york to get married. I live in Holland (europe) and visited the memorial. There was a flower on a name and I took a picture. Now, back home, i get emotional (again). I fell in love with the city and the more i get to know it, the more I understand the impact of the attack. It's not just a name, these are all people. Therefore i decided to google Robert, and came across this site.
I Just want to let you know that even an unknown tourist from the Netherlands is still thinking and remembering your Robert.
best,

Susan Cusner

Dear Rob, We met in high school and ran cross country track together one year, you were good and stuck with it. We met again several years later at Shea when the Mets were good in the mid 80's. We talked breifly and you seemed to have a plan, as usual. You were a funny guy, in a quiet way. I hope that those who knew you better than I ever got the chance to will share that some day with your children. See you on the other side........

I think of Rob, Sheila and the girls every day. He still makes the world a better place even though he is not physically here. I express my love, out loud, to my family more often because of him, I think we all try to.

It was my great pleasure and honor to wear Roberts name band as a tribute to him and his family during the 9-11-02 memorial motorcycle ride. I pray for his grieving family and would be proud to have him as an honorary member of my family. We are all brothers and his bracelet hangs in my office as a reminder of this tragic and sensless loss.

I'm so sorry for the family's loss of Robert Scandole. I wore his name last week during the 9/11 Vigil at my church. He is and will be in my prayers. May God watch over and bless you all, and may the knowledge that he is safe in God's arms gradually bring you peace.

I knew Rob from spending Summers at Breezy Point. He was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet.I will never forget his broad smile or his pleasant Disposition. My sincerest sympathies go to his entire family and especially to his brother Chris, who I used to see thru work quite often but haven't since I 've been tranferred to Manhattan. One Memory I will always have of Rob is how he lent me $5 on Flatbush ave. while riding my bike to Brooklyn from Breezy when I was about 16 or 17. I had left my house in a hurry and forgot to bring some money.I must have run into Rob near Marine Park golf course and stopped to say hello. At that point I was ready to pass out from thirst, and explained to him my lack of funds. Rob was more than happy to lend me the $5 and would never let me pay him back whenever I saw him again in Breezy. It became a little joke with us, until the best I could do was buy him a beer at the Sugar Bowl quite a few years later.Breezy Point will never be the same without people like Rob, Vinny Kane, Pat Sullivan, Matt Burke and countless others who will never be forgotten in our hearts and Prayers, May they rest in Peace....

There is a huge void in the family without Rob - I miss him at every family gathering. We grew up with big Christmas Eves and Thankgsgivings together. I love and respect Rob and will miss him forever. He is on my mind every day, sometimes I feel like I'm pulling his spirit away from Sheila and the girls by thinking about him and talking to him - but then I remember that Rob's spirit and heart are big enough for everyone, always have been. Sheila, the girls, Chris Annmarie and the kids and of course my Aunt Peg and Uncle Bobby are in my thoughts and prayers every day.

I was fortunate enough to know Rob through his sister in law, Maura. Rob was always such a friendly guy. He would pass by my house in Breezy Point - on a bike or pulling a wagon & he always waved & yelled out a greeting.

Sheila, Emma & Katie are in my thoughts & prayers often! God bless!

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
