I did not know Mark personally, but know the hardship his family must have gone through dealing with 9/11. I lost a brother that day, and when I first met my husband 4 years ago and told him about my brother, he mentioned that he attended a memorial service in his home town and was given a card with Mark's name and photo on it. YEARS later, he still had it hung up in his bedroom at his parents house - not realizing years later that he would end up marrying someone who lost a loved one. Every time we go to the memorial in NYC, we always stop to pay our respects to Mark! Know his memory lives on, even through complete strangers!

I worked with Mark for many years while Mark assisted us at ITT to make the working environment and our facilities as safe as they could be. He really was a great guy and I enjoyed all the time I was able to spend with Mark.

My thoughts and prayers to the Shulman family. We were connected through the OBHS marching band and I remember how incredibly sad we felt that a member of our band "family" was taken so tragically from us on that dreadful day. Mark, may you rest in peace.

Mark lifted me and provided endless encouragement when I worked with him at Marsh on property accounts.
What a class act. I have never seen his face or picture, but his voice with the NY accent is still with me. I sure miss him.

I first met Mark at a conference for the company I work for. He came hopping in with a broken league to give his presentation. I didn't know him before that day. All I remember is that big smile, even though I knew his leg was killing him, yet he still gave his talk about corporate risk assessment.
We joked with him about his giving a speech about accident prevention with a broken leg.
Mark,
You are with us everyday, in the showers from heaven and in the rays of sunshine that warms our face.
You will never be forgotten.

I just received the news of Mark's death in the Pratt Institute Alumni booklet. We attended Pratt Institue together for Mechanical Engineering and graduated the same year. I will remember him as being quiet, intelligent, and a hard worker when he needed to be. He worked on his assignments and projects solo and was one of the few Mechanical Engineering students who appeared to have a need for an Engineering degree and also a need to have a life outside of his studies. These were good traits hopefully passed on to his children.

I barely knew Mark from one visit to our facility and a 4-hour meeting. But, I quickly picked up on his helping personality. He quickly began interpreting things for us with our perspective in mind. Meeting him was memorable because of this - Mark was genuinely helpful in a very humble way.

Dear Lori: I regret never having met you personally, but Mark & I were good friends for over five years that started out as business acquaintances when I was Risk Manager for Bundy Corporation ( a division of TI of England). Mark & I traveled together quite a bit while visiting numerous company locations. Mark often spoke lovingly of you and your children. The timeframe was about 1988 - 1993.I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the NFL football pools. We would spend hours talking sports. I considered it a privilege to have known Mark and send you my sincerest and deepest sympathy.

Dear Mark,
I, too, did not know you personally, but have known Melissa and Laurie since kindergarten. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. From all the people who spoke at the memorial service, I came away with a personal feeling of loss that I had never known this wonderful man. What fun he was! I hope that your family and friends find peace. May Melissa and Jamie have beautiful memories of you always, and of course Laurie.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
