Remembering Greg today on this anniversary.
I played pop warner football with Greg on the Waterbury Knights and had been a guest at the family home for dinner. I reconnected with Greg years later while in college in Boston.
A great kid turned into a great guy!! His smile could light up a room!!
God's Peace...

I went to Carrington School with Greg we were in the same class together. I always remembered when he would always borrow a pencil from me. I used to always make sure I had an extra pencil and pen just in case he needed it. To this day things he did still make me chuckle. You were a GREAT PERSON. You will be very missed and I pray for you and your family. Until we meet in heaven again.

TERRY FOSTER

September 21, 2012
Even though I don't know any of Greg's family or friend's, my name is Terry Foster from High Point, NC and I met Greg and his fiance' Gretchen at the time, back in 1999 or 2000. They came to High Point, NC to buy furniture for Greg's new place. It seems like they were in two for three days, and we just hit it off so well, that I asked he and Gretchen over for dinner with my wife and a couple of our friend's. It was their last night in town. So, they came over and we had a really nice time. He was so excited about his new Century Furniture that he had ordered. It seems there was a little problem getting the Century armoire in the condo or apartment when it was being delivered because it was so large, but the driver's pulled it off. Then, we still kept in touch occasionally by e-mail. I knew that he had gone to work in one of the Twin Towers. When 9-11 happened, my heart just stopped, as I thought of Greg right away. I knew everthing had to be so chaotic in the area, so I didn't call him for a few days. I finally had the nerve to call and check on him. I never did hear anything from him, and so I wasn't aware of what had happened. Then a couple of years later, around 2003 or so, Gretchen's mother called me to order some accessories and that is when I found out what had happened to him. It was so hard for me to even speak. To this day, she doesn't know I had tears streaming down my face the whole entire time I was speaking to her. That just goes to show what a nice young man he was. Now in my twentieth year in the furniture business, they are the only client's that I have personally invited to my home for dinner. That should really say something about both of them. They were so nice to work with. I have printed out a picture of Greg to hang on my file cabinet each year, a week before 9-11, to let people know that he may be gone but not forgotten. My brother was a captain for American Airlines and based out LGA when this all happened, and I was so afraid because I didn't know if he was on a trip or not, and then he just happen to have been on vaction that week. I hope to see you in heaven in a few years. Take care, my friend.

i just learned that Greg had passed.
I remember Greg from when we went to Carrington together, my memory is fuzzy from all those years ago, but I remember that Greg, Rob Zapone and myself used to smuggle lunch trays out to lunch recess and use them to sled down the hill by the slide at recess. Also playing "hockey" with chunks of snow on the ice puddles behind the classroom while waiting to be let in after recess.

On the eve of that horrible day my thoughts and prayers are always with the Spagnoletti Family. I remember Greg so fondly he always made me laugh. He was one of my first crushes in high school. We dated for a while and he gave me this beautiful gold cross that I still have and wear every Sept 11th.It was such a big deal to me because I never got anything so nice from a boy before. I remember coming to your house on xmas and it was always filled with love and warmth and great macaroni. I always remember Greg saying he had to dust and vaccum before we went out.He was always groomed to the max and always smelled like he just got out the shower. He told me his dream was to work on wall street. He was a wonderful guy and I will never forget him. May God be with you all tommorrow on the 10th anniversary.

Hi, my name is Gia. I have a 5 year old daughter Shealeigh. As I picked her up from school today she proceeded to ask me if a plane could ever fly into a building and kill people. (Must have been a kindergarten school conversation). I told her, "Yes honey that happened to our country and many many people died that day." You should have seen the look on her face and deep anguish she felt. She began to weep and said how sad it was to know that those people died that way. I explained to her that we can PRAY for those families and that I wear a special bracelet with Gregory's name on it to remember and pray for those who were lost and affected by 9-11. I got the bracelet through my church some how or an organization who was distributing them to people for prayer. She wanted to see who he was so I found this special Guest Book.... :)Until today it never occured to me that I could find who he was online....duuh me! Any way, I hope this story blesses those who read it.....I just got to share a special moment with my daughter about how we can learn to cope with such tragic events and I am blessed to be able to say I FINALLY KNOW WHO I HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR ALL THESE YEARS! Have a blessed day! Sincerely, Gia Nelson

I just recently came across this page while researching my family name (Spagnoletti). It is the first that I have heard of a Spagnoletti losing his life on 9/11. After reading this guestbook, it is clear that Greg was a great guy and will surely be missed. I am not sure if we are related, but I do know that brothers and uncles of my grandfather Amato Spagnoletti stayed in New York when they arrived from Nusco, Italy. I am deeply sorry for your loss and I wish I could have met Greg, relative or not.
Sincerely,

Greg was my cousin and our family misses him very much. We have said lots of prayers for Greg and his family and the world is truly a lesser place now without him. It is hard to put into words how I feel, because like everyone else, I really wish 9\11 never happened. My heart goes out to the rest of Greg's family; my Auntie Maria, Uncle Richard, and my cousins Chris, Mark and Paul. I am saddened when I think of the enormous loss they have suffered. Greg and his family are always in our thoughts. We continue to pray for him and his family.

It is hard to believe it is 7 years since the world lost a great man, Spags as those of us in the industry called him.
I am a deeply relegious Jew and Greg was deeply religious as well, yet the fact that we had different religions did not diminish our freindship, if anything it enhanced it. My wife and children had the pleasure of meeting Greg on several occasions and they were all impressed by how he conducted himself and respected everyone, young and old.
Greg, we all miss you.

I'd like to extend my condolences for your tragic loss to the Spagnoletti family and to Greg's fiancee. I only just recently found out that Greg was lost to you on 9/11. Greg was a friend and school mate of my nephew, Douglas Kropp, in Watertown, Ct. My mother remembers Greg and Doug visiting her home in South Florida when they were teens. She told me she how handsome and energetic Greg was. Having lost Doug in 1988 I'd like to hope in my heart that they are together once again...hopefully making mischief.

Dear Maria & Family:
We know Mrs. Spagnoletti because the few times we were late with a mortgage payment in her position at the bank (embarrassing - yes) she was very kind and compassionate. She is the heart of the company. Over the years, we became friends exchanging recipes, philosophies, child-rearing experiences and so forth.
It was with great sadness we learned of her son, Gregory's passing in 9/11. She spoke of her sons often and of Gregory in particular.
In reading of Gregory in this Guest Book, it is easy to see that people respected him and sought him out. He must have made a very positive impact in his work, community and family.
God Bless The Spagnoletti's. They are a very giving and sweet family. America will always be in pain over 9/11 but Gregory will remain in our memory.
Fondly,

I met Greg at my first job and his first job right out of college at David Lerner Assoc.
Greg and I were friends from the start - we worked out together and had lots of laughs.
I knew he would always be successful - he had that drive and ambition to succeed.
We did lose contact with each through the years.
The way I found out was my girlfriend works with his fiance. Amazing what a small world it really is.
My heart goes out to the Spagnoletti family as well as his fiance.
Greg was a wonderful person, caring person. I sill have the scarf he bought me for my birthday years ago.

I recently was shocked to learn of Greg's passing on 9/11. I met Greg about 5 years ago when we joined up on a club hockey team at Chelsea Piers. We put together a pretty good team, which resulted in us winning a Championship about two years ago. We had so much fun playing over a couple of years. Friendship on the ice also led to parties and getting together off the ice. Greg was always positive, upbeat and alot of fun. Even after I left New York, I was fortunate to be able to keep in touch with Greg. I think about Greg all the time, and I'll always remember him as a great guy. My sympathies to Paul and Greg's entire family.

Greg, or Spags as we in the industry knew him, was a very special person. He knew how to put people at ease no matter what the situation was.
Greg, without knowing it, you taught my eldest two children one of life’s most important lessons, namely that one can have different religious beliefs and yet get along wonderfully. In Yiddish we call it a Mentsch.
Greg, you sure were a Mentsch first class.

We see your sorrow-

We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
