I'll never forget the times you came to visit Toms River and the times you made me and my brothers laugh and how dixie would follow you everywhere. We loved when you visited and considered you a neighbor because you visited so much. I was young and didn't really understand what was going on nine years ago. My family and I think of you often. You were so brave and I'm so glad I knew you. You'll never be forgotten. God bless you.

I did not know Lt. Robert B. Nagel.
I saw his name at the end of my daughter's "Elmo Visits the Firehouse" DVD (it was dedicated to him).
I am so sorry for your loss. Not a week goes by that I don't think about the people lost on that day.
I will make sure my daughter knows about the heroic people who were simply doing their job -- saving others.

Rob Nagel struck me as a quiet and unassuming person. The fact that he was a Viet Nam veteran who handeld trained dogs was probably a reason for his quiet way.
Viet Nam could create an angry person. It could also make one aware of the need to control anger as an emotion. A person who could shape adversity, and stay in control.
Robert B. Nagel will always be missed.

To the Nagel family, I am just writing to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. My maiden name is Nagle, and when I was shown the list of 9/11 and saw Nagel my heart hurt. I have 2 brothers that are in law enforcement. One witnessed the second plane going into the tower, he was on his way to NY when it happened. He is a NJ State Trooper, so for months he and his fellow officers waorked in NY helping anyway they could. Today I will not turnonthe t.v., I do not need a reminder, but I can sya that I do not have any idea of what you and your family has gone through these lasr few years. I do want to let you know that you have people in North Carolina that are praying for you and all of the families that have lost loved ones. God Bless... Father we entrust our brother Robert to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

To Bobby's Family - your Canadian family mourns the loss of our brave cousin/nephew. It was with great sadness that we realized that Bobby was one of the many brave firefighters lost on this very sad day that none of us will ever forget. Although the years & distance have separated our families & the opportunity to know one another better, we too feel the the great sorrow & loss.
Our sincere sympathy to your family & fellow firefighters that mourn this terrible loss.
Our thoughts are with you!

To the friends and family of Lt. Robert Nagel,
I just wanted you to know that I wear a Mercy B.A.N.D.(Bearing Anothers Name Daily) on my wrist everyday.
I think and pray for you all. I know that the events on Sept. 11 have made me feel much pain and sorrow and I can't even imagine what you all have been through. I was thinking that if you knew someone was out there praying for you it might make some difference in your lives.
I know that I can't change the things that have happened to your family but I know your loved one is in the most wonderful place.
I pray that you all have peace and happiness and that you know the Lord will take care of you. Your in my prays daily. God Bless you.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
