I still cannot believe this happened. For all those that are reading this, please know that this man was a kind soul. Always full of joy, and was the best neighbor anyone could ever ask for. Alejo "Chiche" was always there to lend a hand. I pray to God that wherever his family is, that they find some comfort in his memory. May he forever rest in peace, until the day comes when we are one with the Lord.

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

This past weekend, Lubbock held a huge 9-11 Memorial with 3,412 American flags displayed in Kastman Park for 3 days. The Tribute was attended by thousands. At the close of the event, the flags were sold for $25.00 each, funds going for nursing scholarships. I bought a flag, and my tribute card was for Alejo Perez. I wanted to know about
him, and found this information on the web. I was in Boston on 9-11-01 and it was a chilling experience. I will fly this flag in Alejo's honor most proudly on patriotic holidays, and will never forget his name. Carol Mitchell Lee, Lubbock, Texas

I am very touched by the lost of our close friend (alejo) he was more than a face to us, he was a friend, a father and a husband. I had the great opportunity of sharing some of his years, and he was always with a great attitude and a great sense of humor towards life* I loved him like a father, he will always be in our hearts! *CHICHE* your memories will always live in me*may you rest in peace and may the good lord protect you always, we love you and miss you, thank you for all the great moments, laughs and the great coffee we shared! love, Jackie.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
