I remember our last conversation. It was about family. It was about the balance of work versus personal time. It was one week before that final day. You were saying that the world can end tomorrow and what are you left with? I wasn't too happy in my career at that time. I wasn't happy in my family life. I was going to the trade center every Monday and Tuesday and dreaded it. I would trade anything to still have those Mondays and Tuesdays I changed a lot after that conversation and the ensuing week. Thank you for being a voice of wisdom, a great soul, and being a friend that I still feel watches over me.

Vera, you always helped me put a positive spin on the negative things we had to deal with. You always helped me and my team and no issue was too big. You should know that justice was served yesterday.

Hey Vera,
Saw your family last night at the memorial at Saint Frances....I tried to light some candles for you and of course they were all broken....so I lit some today at my new parish Saint Eugene's. Spoke to Sandra last night and saw little Melanie too....she has gotten so big and I remember like yesterday the time she was born and you were so excited for Sandra. Annie has also grown so fast. Your mom still misses you so much. You are ALWAYS in my prayers and I am so sorry you had to leave this world in such a violent way and hope you are at peace. I know that you are looking down and smiling at us all !

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
