Today was my first time time visiting the memorial. It´s dark and raining out, Nickies name stood out immediately to me due to the beautiful white rose stuck within her name. It made it feel very real to me about how fresh this all still was for some people. I looked up her name to learn so more about her life to discover that today was her birthday and that she had so many people who have wrote such amazing this about her and cared about her so deeply. The world misses you.

I visited the Memorial June 2023, I saw the name Nickie Lindo. It stood out to me. I knew nothing about Nickie Lindo save that she was a victim of 2001. We were not friends nor foe. I wanted to know who she was, what she did. I know now that she was young and full of life and it was cut too short. Rest in peace Nickie Lindo.

Tomorrow will be September 11. Hey auntie I wish you were here, I get told all the time that I look just like my aunt & that I´m your twin that´s really a good thing. I have your picture saved in my phone and I´m really growing up, looking just like you. You are truly beautiful I´m so saddened this happened to you. May your soul continue to rest peacefully. My loving Auntie. I love you. Until we meet again.

May warm memories of times shared with Nickie lighten the sorrow in your heart. I am very sorry for your loss.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our heart's cry....

We cannot take away your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-

because we

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

the American people

face this difficult time together. Teresa Jahn

I did not know Nickie but made a block honoring her for the United In Memory 9/11 Victims' Memorial Quilt. I just wanted to pass on the message that the quilts will finally be in New York City, we've been trying for months! The display will be located at Pier 94 & will run from Sept. 11-14, 9am-5pm. We will be holding a ceremony to honor all of the victim's of 9/11 on Sept. 11 at 3 PM. I will be there so please ask for me. This will be my 8th trip from the UK to USA to help with UIM shows since August 2002. I have no way of contacting Nickie's family & friends other than thru this tribute site, I would love to hear from someone who knew her.

My name is Jacquelyn and at my school they've asked us to wear armbands with the name of somone who died in the attacks for a week to honor thier memory and my name is Nikkie's. I hope her family reads this and knows that someone far away is thinking of her and sends all her sympathy to you in this difficult time. Thank You.

I have known Nickie since about 1988, not ver well, but through mutual people. I hadn't seen Nickie since about 1992, but when I heard about her demise, my heart ached for her and her family. I remember her husband Derrick, and I never met her two children, but I especially pray for them, and her mom, dad, siblings. Derrick stay strong as you can, I know it will be a long weary road to travel, but you will make it.

PEACE be with you all.
