Francisco Liriano Obituary

Always Trying to Get Ahead

Francisco Liriano liked to set goals for himself. Every month, he would think about a way to move up in his work. He was always taking exams for licenses that might enable him to do things like sell insurance or real estate. "He was always looking for the next opportunity," said Yvette Toribio, a friend of Mr. Liriano's sister, Maribel Paulino. He worked his way up to the position of assistant to a vice president of Citibank in an office in the World Trade Center, Ms. Toribio said. A Dominican immigrant, he had earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and, two years ago, married Shirley Somwaru, originally from Guayana.

On Tuesday morning, Mr. Liriano, 33, was not in his fifth-floor office in the trade center. He had gone looking for the next opportunity. According to Ms. Toribio, he had gone to a meeting hoping to explore the possibility of landing an even better job. The meeting was on the 105th floor.

Francisco,

I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet you at a training class we both attended at Citibank. You were a young guy with everything to live for, it's so sad you had to go this way, you will always be missed by your other family at Citibank, God bless your family and your baby girl always............peace

Francis,

To think that it is almost one year ago that we lost you, yet it feels like yesterday. I pray for your family, especially your mother and sisters, that God may bless them and give them comfort and strength to go on.

We will never forget your willingness to lend a helping hand, your strong work ethic, focus, ambition, and most of all (my favorite) your smile.

Now that you are in a better place-in Heaven- please watch over us.

I will forever cherish all the moments we shared together. Thank you for being a part of my life. XOXOXOXO

Love,

Aurora

IN OUR HEARTS

We thought of you with love today.

But that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday.

And days before that too.

We think of you in silence.

We often speak your name.

Now all we have is memories.

And your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake.

With which we'll never part.

God has you in his keeping.

We have you in our heart.
