I,always think about my 3rd great grandfather and I,ll miss him a lot and my prayers and my condelances to his family. hes a great author and I,enjoy reading his novel.i,wished a had to meet him.

I just today stumbled upon the obituary of this lovely man. My condolences to your family.
I loved Watership Down and can't believe how many years have passed since I first read it! My daughter is 21 and we read it together when she was in high school. I loved the book and many years later had a beautiful double mane lion-head Angora named Nala. It was after she died that I reread Watership Down and it helped me come to terms with her passing. So many great words created in that book....

I'll never forget meeting Richard Adams at his Watership Down book-signing event at Humboldt State University Bookstore (Arcata, California) in 1976. I was a freshman at the time, 21 years old. I told him how much I loved his book, Watership Down!!! He asked me my name, and took much delight in signing my book. And then, he looked up at me, with this beautiful, warm smile, and added a drawing of a sweet little rabbit holding a carrot high in the air, with "Carrots for ever!" next to...
