Joseph Conrad McCage, 56, of Denton, Texas, passed away on January 7, 2021 in Denton. He was born in Haltom City, Texas to Joseph and Earlyne McCage on October 28, 1964.


Joe graduated from Gainesville High School, Gainesville Texas in 1983. After graduation, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served his country proudly for almost 30 years. During his military career, Joe served in Bosnia and Iraq. Joe was a highly decorated soldier. He received the Iraq Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, the Legion of Merit Award, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, NATO Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and numerous other awards ribbons and badges. 


He is survived by his wife, Crystal of Denton, Texas; his children Kristi McCage of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;  Ashley McCage (Quinton David) of Richmond, Virginia; Blair McCage (Adam Jezek) of Denton, Texas; Joseph McCage II of Denton, Texas; Julia Barnes of Denton, Texas; Jesse Barnes (Nikki Barnes) of Castleton, Virginia. Joe is also survived by his eight grandchildren that he loved dearly:  Zack, Preston, Alannah, Jaiden, James, Ashton, Milo and Owen.


Joe is also survived by his mother Earlyne McCage of Gainesville, Texas;  Siblings,  Melissa Gallahan (John Gallahan) Corinth, Texas;  Patrick McCage (Carla McCage) Lindsay, Texas; Christopher McCage, Gainesville, Texas; 


Kurt McCage (Meagan McCage) Gainesville, Texas.  


He was preceded in death by his wife Jennifer Marie Walker McCage and his father Joseph Randall McCage. 


A private Memorial Service will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Joseph will later be at rest at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington Virginia.
