May 15, 1937 - January 13, 2021 Jaime Guillermo Corvalan-Montero was born May 15, 1937 in Santiago, Chile. Dr. Jaime G. Corvalan, was distinguished physician and brilliant Surgeon-Urologist. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, he attended Medical School at the University of Chile School of Medicine in Santiago, Chile., wherein he also served as Professor of surgery and urology. Dr. Corvalan had been offered a chief urologic medical residency at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, where he had completed his specialty of renal vascular surgery, hypertension and renal transplantation. He was given his MD, and awarded his FACS - Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In California, he was also awarded Fellowship from the UCLA School of Medicine in clinical research of hypertension He also served as Chief of the Urology Department - surgery division and held a professorship at UCLA. He served with distinction in private practice as a medical doctor and urologist in the Los Angeles, California and on staff at UCLA, VA Hospital in Sepulveda, Queen of Angeles, Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, Thompson Memorial Hospital, San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, Santa Marta Hospital, East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital, Glendale Memorial Hospital and Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. Dr. Corvalan was also a well-known lecturer and conducted seminars for the english and spanish speaking community with emphasis on "Quality of Life" and well-being throughout his career. He was also recognized as a radio talk show host and was given a weekly radio program in LA. He authored three books, along with audio video courses and espoused to vigorously promote the idea of personal achievement and seeking a higher quality of life throughout the english and spanish speaking community, thus inspiring thousands of individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals through self esteem, dedication to their chosen field and positive mental attitude. His books included "Beyond Bedside Manner: Preserving the Vessel for your Soul's Journey" and had contributed to numerous medical, urological and surgical publications. Dr. Corvalan is survived by his wife, Christina, and his seven children, Jaime, Jr, Cecilia, Frank, Phillip, Audrey, Suzanna and Brent. The date of passing was January 13, 2021 in Pasadena, California. Funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park - Hollywood Hills, located at 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, California 90068. (800) 204-3131). on March 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Old North Church (red brick exterior) in an outdoor/tent service at Forest Lawn. (Due to covid, indoor services were unavailable, and masks and social distancing required)
