Orlando "Landy" Leon

1945 - 2021

Orlando "Landy" Leon, 76, of Greeley passed away March 31, 2021 surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born January 8, 1945 in Gill, CO to Bernabe and Celia (Maestas) Leon where he was raised. He graduated from Kersey High School in 1963 and then married Lugardita "Garda" Garcia on October 20, 1965. He served in the U.S. Army from October 25, 1965 until October 24, 1967. Landy worked for Monfort, Town and Country Market in LaSalle and then for IBM where he retired. He was very patriotic, loved fishing, tinkering around and was a terrific handy man but above all enjoyed time with family, especially the grandkids. He was a member of the Evans United Methodist Church and helped by cleaning and mowing for a number of years. Thankful to have shared his life include his daughter, Michelle (Ryan) Korgan; grandchildren, Marcel Liscano, Kylie Korgan, Savannah Leon and Brady Korgan; great-grandchild, Camblin Liscano; his ex-wife, Lugardita "Garda" Leon and his siblings, Eddie Leon, Leona Mustain, Edna Webster and Ernie Leon. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael and siblings; Wenona Leon, Paz Bernhoft, Isaias, Leo and Raymond Leon, Grace Mascarenas and two half-sisters, Lucy Muscat and Ruth Mokski. His visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Adamson and Life Celebration 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 7 at Adamson. Interment with military honors at Linn Grove Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Adamson Reception Center. Memorial gifts may be made to the National Disabled American Veterans in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
