Peter "Pete" Duran

1932 - 2021

Peter (Pete) Duran was surrounded with love and prayer when he went home to be with the Lord. Sunrise 1932 - Sunset 2021 - Kersey/Greeley, CO. On June 20, 1997, Pete married the love of his life, Delilah Perez. They lived a beautiful and wonderful life together. Pete grew up in Greeley with amazing friends and family, and is where he received his education. When Pete was 18, he joined the Navy and served during the Korean War on the USS Sitkoh Bay. Pete, along with his friend Manuel Sisneros, partnered together for 35 years at Dumar Contractors where he eventually retired at age 75. His favorite place to be was with his wife, Delilah. They enjoyed going on adventures and traveling together with Manuel and his wife, Bonnie. When not traveling, Pete liked to play golf, read world history, fish, and work in his yard and on their home. He led his life by faith and love in the Lord. He could always be found befriending someone, laughing, talking, or just listening. He was an extraordinary man and cherished by all those who had the privilege to meet him. He was most proud of his family and loved to spend time with them and friends. He will always be with us through the countless memories and stories shared and created by him. His examples of love, compassion, understanding, and kindness will forever remain in each one of us. Pete is survived by his wife Delilah Duran; Children Della and Tony Ortiz; Carla and Oscar Ortiz; Nathan A. Perez; Shawna and Gerardo Midence; Jill and Tony Diederich; Diana Duran and Press Montoya; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at First Assembly of God, 3000 16th St., Greeley, CO.
