CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) returned to his creator on March 14, 2021, at the age of 82 in UNMC, Omaha, NE. CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) was born on September 23, 1938, of the late parents Margaret Theresa (Wissler) Bedea and George Howard Bedea. He grew up on his grandfather's farm near Table Rock, NE with his older brother, the late Robert Alan Bedea, younger brother, Gary Howard Bedea. CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) married Carolyn Armstrong on December 17, 1961. In their union, they were blessed with 2 children, Steve and Doug. CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) and Carolyn divorced in 2003.
CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) enlisted in the US Navy in 1956 and spent his tour in the Pacific. Upon returning home he worked in lumber, then construction in different missiles site. He attended and graduated with a degree in Electronics at Southeast Community College. He then went onto Peru State College where he graduated with a BA in Industrial Arts. He began his teaching career at East High School in Lincoln in 1968. He also obtained his Commercial Pilot License from the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration in 1972. Later he continued his Master of Education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and graduated in 1976.
His passion for farming and livestock business moved him to Du Bois, Ne. where he began as a shop teacher at Humbolt High School. He was promoted as a Principal for several years and left in 1988. After his time in Humbolt, he accepted a position as a Vice Principal for Beatrice Junior High. Later, he worked as a Warranty Manager at Landol Corporation in Maryville KS. In 1991, CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) was activated in the Army Reserve Unit and sent to Kuwait during Desert Storm. He served as an Adviser for the Kuwaiti Army where he retired as Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4), member of the Reserve Officers Association of the United States and VFW. He was immensely proud to serve his country in the US Navy in the Pacific, US Army here in the USA and Kuwait. When he returned home, he was hired by several Military Contractors who worked for the U.S. Army in Kuwait and served different Senior Managerial positions.
While CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) was working as a Director of Materiale Maintenance Directorate for CSA Ltd. Kuwait, he met Gina Kintanar Tiempo DMD in 2005. They were married on April 24, 2007 in Cebu, Philippines. Gina has four children: Kathleen Ann, Krizia April, Krystel Abbie, and Karl Andrew. CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) raised, loved and cared for Gina's children as his own. In 2010, CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET), Gina and the kids moved to the Philippines from Kuwait where they ventured into the Logging and Sawmill Business. In 2012 CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) and Gina bought a home in Lincoln, NE where he was hired at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and School. CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) wanted to remain busy and was at St. Joseph until shortly before his passing.
CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) was very generous and willing to sacrificed himself for others. He has helped a lot of his friends, subordinates of different nationalities in kind, services and monetary gifts. He was a good provider for his family, proud of his children's accomplishments, loved his children and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed spending time with his family flying, traveling, camping, walking and other outdoor activities.
CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) is survived by his wife, Gina T. Bedea DMD; children: Steve (Dawn Sherman) Bedea, Kathleen Ann T. (Jerry Peterson) Bedea, Krizia April (Santiago) Bedea Galdamez, Krystel Abbie T. Sanoy, Karl Andrew T. Sanoy; brother: Gary (Betty) Bedea; grandchildren: Aaron (Faiymeen "Jen") Bedea, Justin Bedea, Klarence Gabriel T. Sanoy, Adam Raphael T. Sanoy, Donald James T. Peterson; Great-grandchildren: Jayden Bedea, Jasmine Nichols, Amon Bedea, Amar Remmenga, Tyse Garrett. CW4 Donald George Bedea (RET) was preceded in death by his Grandfather, George Bedea; Father, Howard Bedea; brother, Robert Bedea; StepFather, Harold Shuss; mother, Margaret (Bedea) Shuss; son, Doug Bedea; granddaughter, Shelby Bedea.
Public Visitation: Friday, 9 April 2021 from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R Street. A live stream of the Rosary will be available to the public. Funeral Mass: Saturday, 10 April 2021 at 10:00 am at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 7900 Trendwood Dr, Lincoln, NE 68506 to be officiated by Fr. Michael McCabe. A live stream of the Funeral Mass will be available to the public. Reception follows at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, Reception Hall. Interment: Monday, 12 April 2021 at 1100 Omaha National Cemetery, Military Cemetery in Sarpy County, 14250 Schram Rd, Omaha, NE 68138. Memorials to the family for future designation.
