Kenneth Smith Obituary

Kenneth Smith
January 26, 1957 - May 6, 2021
Bradenton, Florida -
Kenneth Smith, 64, of Bradenton, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Largo Medical Center. He was born in Hackensack, NJ on Saturday, January 26, 1957 to William and Mary Smith. Ken was a 1975 graduate of Emerson High School and completed U.S. Navy Boot Camp the same year. He continued to serve our country until April 1981. Through the training Ken received in the Navy he was able to get employment with AT&T until he left in 2004. Ken went to work with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Department then he later retired as Sergeant with the Collier Sheriff's Department.
Ken was a fun loving family man who spent his life caring for his family. He was always the life of the party and his brothers, children, and extended family were everything to him. Ken loved when he and his wife, Sue, were able to get away for a few days alone and just relax on a beach and enjoy some entertainment. He was a very special person to all who knew him. An avid sports fan, he loved playing golf on Fridays with a group of friends and his step-son, Tom.
Those left behind to cherish Ken's memory will remember him for his caring and affectionate way that he showed not only to his family, but all that met him. He is survived by his wife, Susan, three daughters; Jessica Clifford (John), Renee Corrado (Marc), and Vanessa Smith; three step-sons; Christopher Meyer (Jennifer), Thomas Meyer, and Brian Meyer (Denise); eight grandchildren; Jackson Clifford, Gianna Clifford, Briella Corrado, Madelyn Corrado, Colin Meyer, Caden Meyer, Sophia Meyer, and Chloe Meyer; and four brothers; William Smith (Lonnie), Dennis Smith (Terri), Ron Smith, and Thomas Smith (Mary).
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bradenton with military honors to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Heart Assoc. For more information, you may visit www.ManasotaMemorial.com.
