Stephen Cranston Obituary

Stephen "Steve" "Scotty" Cranston
March 14, 1953 - August 7, 2021
Resident of Livermore
Stephen Cranston, beloved Scoutmaster of Alameda's Boy Scout Troop 1015 passed away Saturday evening August 7th, 2021.
Steve, or "Scotty" worked with Medallion Industries Inc. since 1994. Throughout his career he remained one of their top salesmen and was renowned for being the one capable of handling the most difficult problems that arose. By the end of his career, he was not only relied on by Medallion for training their sales associates but was the branch manager as well.
The biggest pride of Steve's life was being the Scoutmaster of Alameda Scouts BSA Troop 1015. For 32 years, from 1974 to 2006, Steve changed the lives of countless scouts and their families. During his tenure, he helped around 60 Scouts earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
Steve's dedication to scouting went further than his troop 1015. Steve's influence in Alameda's Boy Scouts council as an advocate for having high standards for the scouting program is unmatched.
Steve was a truly great man and all who knew him understand what a blessing he is. Steve stood for doing well by others and fighting for what's right. You won't find a more honorable or good-hearted man than Steve.
A celebration of life will be held at 10am on Saturday October 2, 2021, at the Alameda Elks Lodge parking lot, 2255 Santa Clara Ave., Alameda, CA.
In the words that the troop says at the end of every troop meeting, "May the great Scoutmaster, of all Scouts, be with us, until we meet again." For further information please call, Harry W. Greer, Funeral Director, (CA License No. FDR-745)
