Merced, California - Melissa Ann Duval, born June 8, 1977 to Tony and Mary Carmo, passed away September 6, 2021 in Merced, California. Melissa was an Insurance Agent at Eason Insurance Agency for 15 years. She was also a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge both in Merced, California.
Melissa was a one of a kind mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was always there when you needed her, no questions asked. You knew she would be there but she would be late.
Melissa's pride and joy was her daughter, Emily. Emily and Melissa had a very special bond. They weren't just mother and daughter, they were also best friends. Whatever Emily showed interest in, they both committed to it 100%.Whether it be dance, or her latest passion, FFA. If Emily loved it, so did Melissa.
Melissa loved to travel, go camping, go to the beach, spending time with family, attending Portuguese Festas, Shopping, and watching "Her Shows". She was also very involved in her nieces and nephews lives and attending every activity they were involved in. She will be dearly missed.
Melissa is preceded in death by her husband, Scott Duval, parents Tony and Mary Carmo and her grandparents, Joe and Anna Rosa.
Melissa is survived by her beloved daughter Emily, her siblings, Rick (Laurie) Carmo of Atwater, Kristen (Brian) Alberto of Hickman and Cindy (Mark) Morton of Merced.
A Rosary will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 9:30 am, with a Mass starting at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Melissa the world has loss a beautiful lady inside and out. I know you are in Scott loving arms again. It was so amazing to work with you at Target and seeing at Allstate. Sorry I won´t be there today but my prayers are with your beautiful daughter and family.
