Emil Bezak Obituary
He was born on August 29, 1935, to the late Amil and Cora May (Davis) Bezak in Claridge, PA. Emil graduated from Penn Township High School and took extension courses at Penn State. He married Joann H. Chanoski on May 10, 1958, in Jeannette, PA; Joann survives him.
He began working in the construction field with his father and eventually formed his own construction company which he operated until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Reynoldsville, PA, North Central PA Slovenian Polka Boosters, Punxsutawney Groundhog Polka Club, American Legion, Norwin Elks Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles #983, and the Brookville Firemens Club. Emil loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, he also enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and tractors. Emil enjoyed socializing and planning and throwing barbecues and pig roasts.
In addition to his wife, Emil is survived by four children: Kathy Bezak of Brookville, PA; Amil (Debby) Bezak of Merrick, NY; Mike Bezak of Brookville, PA; Greg (Peg) Bezak of Brookville, PA; and two grandchildren, Leah Kerr and Zach Bezak.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, September 13, 2021, from 3-6 pm at the McKinney – d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825.
A memorial service will take place immediately following the visitation beginning at 6 pm and officiated by Deacon Steve Rowan. Final interment will take place at the Brookville Cemetery, Brookville, Jefferson Co., PA.
