David Anderson, sales engineer, local swim team grill cook, professional moving service for his daughters, bike ride connoisseur, amazing husband, and incredible father died suddenly October 21, 2021 at age 58 from a major cardiac incident. While studying electrical engineering at the University of Illinois, Dave met the love of his life Janet Cotter (soon to be Anderson) on a blind date. They married right out of college and that is when Dave started his dream job - husband and father to the Anderson girls. Depending on the time of the year you could spot Dave in the morning swimming at either his childhood place of recreation Centennial Beach (summers), his neighborhood pool in Brookdale (Sundays), or with his dedicated swim crew at Marmion High School (year-round in the very early morning). He was always active and always had a smile on his face. He led his family on many adventures from a cross country road trip in an RV (pre internet and google maps), to snowboarding on the best "mountains" the Midwest has to offer, to boogie boarding on a lake. His daughters, Kelly Marie, Megan Emily, and Teresa Veronica could count on him for all the big and little things- figuring out travel after accidently purchasing a plane ticket to the incorrect city, driving to the high school parking lot to replace a tire after hitting a pothole in the morning, and flying the biggest gay pride flag in front of the house each June. While he is gone far too soon, and it is hard not to feel robbed of the infinite adventures, smiles, and love we know Dave should have had left in his life, we know he spent every day surrounded by the people he loved - his wife, his children, his siblings, and his friends. He was a man who always showed up and we know he will continue to be there for all the moments in the future - just not in the ways we planned. Dave's parents Bernard and Emma Anderson preceded him in death. Dave is one of 10 children, he is survived by his sisters Cereise Bennett, Mary Grainey, Ann Schumacher, Teresa Anderson, and Peggy Perino, as well as his brothers Steve, Tim, and Dan Anderson. His brother Michael preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association. Visitation will be Friday, October 29th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill Street Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 30th at 10:30 AM at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville. Interment is private with future inurnment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Tiskilwa, Illinois. For information please call 630-355-0213 or visit www.friedrich-jones.com

I worked with Dave in Oldsmar, FL back in his Westinghouse days. Smart, always positive and an absolute pleasure to work with. I would run into Dave at trade shows occasionally and always felt I had to do a better job of keeping up with this fine gentleman. God bless his family. I will say a Rosary for him tonight.
