Ray I. Martin, 86, of Hummelstown, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born in Hummelstown on April 12, 1935, he was the son of the late Tyson and Mary E. Heisey Martin. A dedicated and hard worker, Ray was currently a caretaker at the Hummelstown Cemetery. He retired from Memmi's Bakery, Hershey, and prior to that, worked at Porter's Market and Lynn's Market both formerly of Hummelstown. Ray was a 1953 graduate of the former Hummelstown High School. A U.S. Army veteran, Ray served in the Korean War. He was a member of Trinty United Methodist Church, Hummelstown, where he was a Sunday School Teacher. An avid bowler, Ray bowled in many leagues but especially enjoyed his Palmyra Bowling League. He enjoyed reading about travel destinations, but most of all traveling with his companion, Ruth, out West on annual trips. He was an avid Penn State University football fan and Hershey Bears Ice Hockey fan. He also enjoyed going to see youth baseball and football games, and watching golf, hockey, tennis and volleyball on TV. Dear to his heart was his family and making Christmas cookies with his niece. Ray is survived by one sister, Ethel M. Moses of Highspire; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Violet Martin, Evelyn Martin, Dorothy E. Geib and Jean D. Wolfe; and six brothers, William, Paul, Chester, Harry, Morris and Boyd. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 2 PM in the Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Robert J. Kazinski, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends are invited to the viewing Tuesday in the church's narthex from 1 PM until time of the services. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036.

Was socsad to hear of the Passing of Ray was a nice person he used to come into McDonald's when I worked there in Hummelstown my Deepest Condolences and Prayers to the Martin family in this time of such a great loss he will be greatly missed may he RIP
