Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

HYNES, Marion Jean - Of Flint, age 91, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at The Landings of Genesee Valley.


Funeral service will be held 4pm Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,


Reverend Dr. Joseph Novak officiating.


Cremation will take place following the service.


Those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army.


Visitation 2pm Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.


Marion was born in Wallaceburg, Canada on July 3, 1930, the daughter of the late James and Annie (Young) Murray. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Marion retired as a bookkeeper from Genesee Electric and she was also a member of the Landlords Association. Marion enjoyed spending time with family, knitting, canning, reading, gardening, especially with roses.


Surviving are husband, Vernon;


2 children, James V. and wife Terri, Scott R. and wife Susan;


8 grandchildren, Jason Hynes, Jessica (Thomas) Diener, Jenelle Hynes, Brenden Hynes, Paul Hynes, David (Sayaka) Hynes, Michelle (Steven) Faist, and Becky (Jason) Freeman;


9 great-grandchildren;


daughter-in-law, Sharon (Scott) Michaels.


She was preceded in death by her son, Lionel "Jeffery" and her parents.
