HARLAN- Joe Myers, 65, of Loyall, KY, passed away Sat, June 17, 2006 at the U.K. Medical Center. He was born February 14, 1941 in Gulston, KY. Mr. Myers was a 1964 graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Pharmacy. He was past president and chairman of the Kentucky Pharmacy Association where he just received his 40 year pin. He was a licensed pharmacist in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina & South Carolina. Mr. Myers was the former owner of Lee Drug and had been a pharmacist at C.V.S. since 1994. He was a U.K. Alumnist active in the Blue & White Club. He was also a member of the Teetersville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Pearl Myers, two brothers, Charles Edward Myers & Robert H. Myers and two sisters, Emma Jean Debusk and Anna Lee Gibson. Survivors include his wife, Ivory Powell Myers of Loyall, KY, two children, Kevin Myers and wife Marsha of Lexington, KY, Patti Lewis and husband Morris of Lee Co., VA, seven grandchildren, Ben Myers, Morgan Myers, Kodi Myers, Peyton Myers, Mackenna Myers, Maci Morris and Victor Morris, mother-in-law, Cuma Powell of Harlan, KY and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Tue, June 20, 2006 at 8 p.m., in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Howell and Rev. Charlie Douglas officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Wed, June 21, 2006 at 12 p.m., at Resthaven Cemetery of Keith, KY. Visitation will be held Tue, June 20, 2006 from 6-8 p.m., in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Fred Howard, Mike Forester, David Smith, Harry Gibson, Lewis Morris, P.J. Brent and Otis Doan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Teetersville Baptist Church Building Fund. Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I am very sorry for your loss and would love for you to know how much Joe meant to me. He was such a wonderful man who left me with memories of the times he played with Elizabeth when she was a baby. Please know tha tour prayers are with you.

i have known Joe for around 45 years.He was a good friend.Sorry about your loss. I lived in Gulston for about eight years. God will help you get through this.
