Joseph M. McFadden, 78, a resident of Mount Laurel, N.J., for the past 11 years, died Friday.
Born and raised in Scranton, son of the late Michael and Helen McFadden, he was a graduate of the University of Scranton and raised his family in Willingboro, N.J. He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean War and also served in the Navy and Marine Reserves. He retired from the state of New Jersey, where he worked as a systems analyst.
Surviving are four children, Barbara E. McFadden-Christ and husband, Clint; Joseph M. McFadden Jr. and wife, Faith Marlin-McFadden; and Jane C. McFadden-Walter and husband, Chris; nine grandchildren, Alexandra, Ian, Rachel, John, Sara, Christopher Jr., Matthew, Laura and Rebecca; a brother, Paul McFadden; and a sister, Theresa Durkin.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at noon in the chapel at Cathedral Cemetery, 1708 Oram St., Scranton.
