Dottie Pike

TRENTON - Mrs. Dorothy "Dottie" Pike, 68, died Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Carolina Rivers Nursing Home in Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 7 p.m., at Jones Funeral Home, Richlands Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Tallman and the Rev. George E. Pike officiating. Burial will be Sunday, 2 p.m., at the Pike Family Cemetery, located behind her home. Mrs. Pike was a daughter of the late Lewis D. Philyaw and Thelma Collins Philyaw. She was retired from First Citizens Bank. Mrs. Pike was a lifelong member of Comfort Christian Church where she had served as a Sunday school teacher for many years until her health didn't allow her to serve. She also enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved to decorate for all seasons and was an avid gardener. She loved her family dearly. Survivors include her husband, Garland Morris Pike; one son, David Brett Pike and his wife Katrina of Trenton; one grandson, David Bryson Pike; two grand-daughters, Riley M. Pike and Breana Southard; sister, Debbie S. Philyaw, and brother, Gene A. Philyaw, both of Comfort. Although flowers are welcomed, donations can be made to the Comfort Christian Church or to the Comfort Volunteer Fire Department. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service Saturday night and at other times at the home, 238 Weyerhaeuser Road, Trenton, or David's home, 214 Weyerhaeuser Road, Trenton.
