Billike M. King passed away peacefully on February 13, 2013 at the age of 84. He was born in Peacock Texas on September 25, 1928 to Richard King and Iva Francis Webb King. Bill is the 8th child born to Richard (Dick) King and the first to his mother Iva King. They family moved to Paskenta, Calif., May 17, 1938. He attended grade school in Paskenta and later graduated from High School in Corning.
In 1947 Bill worked for the United States Army in Alaska bringing army surplus supplies back from the Aleutian Islands. Then in 1950 Bill began working for Crane Mills cleaning culverts on the logging roads. He then was promoted to logging truck driver and later to driving the lumber truck. Bill retired in 1986.
He is survived by his two sons, Dean King and Paul King; brothers and sisters, Nina Robinson, Thelma Yeo, Leslie King, Betty Shoun and Dick King. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty King 6 months earlier.
Billike's Memorial will be held on Saturday March 2, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the City Lights Church 3015 Cohasset Rd, Chico, CA.
